hello dj nari!

HI! Thank you for listening!!!

Hi, I am not a big fan of Jeff Lynn, because ELO was a lot of tripe with shitty string arrangement's mainly, and I thought he was the weakest link in Traveling Wilburys. But that's just me. I love your selections across this frame of works though. Please do go on... :)
DJ Nari (host) 4:07:56 PM
Hi Rofflelectic! I totally understand your point. Although I am a fan of ELO, their songs are pop and catch (especially after "Discovery") But I love their early works. I feel Jeff Lynn's arrange is always similar, once you have Jeff Lynn as a producer, your album gonna be "Made by Jeff Lynn" ("Cloud Nine" by George Harrison was really Jeff Lynn album...) Maybe he was the weakest in Traveling Wilburys, but I guess others are tooooo legends
Rofflelectic 4:14:50 PM
That's fair. When I was a kid we did a version of their version of Roll over Beethoven that was fun, but I never really connected to much else. He was a fine producer indeed, I just never found ELO to get to their potential. They had a string section out of the box, and I owned a cello at the time, so perhaps snobbery was afoot. :)
DJ Nari (host) 4:34:57 PM
Roll over Beethoven is great song, they really did their own way arrange. It is sad they pushed the string section away and moved to disco/synth pop...

Thank you for listening! Have a great afternoon/evening!
