Cuts Into Deep Time Tue Sep 15 with Dan Ruccia on WPRB Princeton 103.3 FM

JK, this is not your regularly scheduled Catemoji.

Howdy

Hey Joe! How's your Tuesday?

Pretty chill pretty chill

Whats the vibe of ur show I never heard u on

This song is cool

Kinda all over the place. Vaguely rock/jagged but also not that. We'll see where the radio gods take me today

I liked the second song since the break. It had the vibes of like a song from the old desert crusin show but with a folksy noisiness. Thats cool

What's jagged? And. You dont have your whole song list ready to go ahead of time?

Yeah, Moe Tucker can go hard when she chooses to

I've got a general list of songs I'm planning to play, but I don't figure out the order until I'm on the air. It's more fun that way, and let's me run with whatever serendipity/randomness happens

Good vibe

On air signal experiencing weird volume fluctuation tho.

Weird. Let me know if it continues and I'll let our tech folks know

Hey Dan! Big love to Esoterica for the past 3 hours, was and still am tidying up my apartment. Nice to hear ya again!

And yeah, I stumbled upon Lope Dope today. Someone posted about them. All I know is that they're from Vietnam and they do the smoothest of city pop

Hiya TAndy!

I love Björk, but she is lupe dope all day long. :)

Oh the RIBS song? literally the first thing I thought listening to that song was "I bet this sounds so awesome perfomed"

LOL Roffle

Yeah, RIBS are a killer live band. Everything is just so much bigger

Im gonna have to try to catch them live since u vouch for it

It's been a long time since you got to meet the nighttime vibes, and I must say the music fits excellently

Yeah, the darkness carries music so much differently

Speaking of bands I'd love to see live someday, I hope Circle finds its way stateside sometime

ooo what do they sound like

They're what's on right now!

Or like, the looping proggy part of this song

oh sorry I didn't refresh

All good!

yessss esp with a good lighting rig and an operator who cares this show would be incredible

I love don Giovanni

Their main guy was actually a DJ here for a little bit like 20 years ago

No way! that's rad

Don Giovanni is a great label!

A few cool and semi-local acts ive enjoyed have released music with them at least once

Screaming Females! I know that much.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Giovanni_Records_discography

The lead singer Marissa Paternoster(?) has a duo act called NOUN that does a lot of philly and NJ shows when they're not on tour

really heavy stuff

I have a feeling I'm going to love speed stick now too

Paternoster went to Roselle Catholic. I have a few friends that also went there. lol\

is that in the area

NOUN is a nice put together.

Will have to check out NOUN when I get a chance

personal fav from them is Wanted/Consumed

Roselle is right next to Linden. lol

oic. I'm from south lol never been to that area

I was Glassboro south at one time. All good. :)

i guess for college? good town for basement shows when i knew people in school there

High School. The places this world lets you wander.

Best music college in NJ

Across the street from the college!

This is unbelievable

yeah I knew some people who travelled far and wide to go to the Rowan music school

Across the street from the college HS!

Milwaukee was the furthest I saw

This is got to be the best rock show on the radio right now

TANDY TTRUUUEE

TAndy, yeah, these four are so good. Their set last week was like pure levitation the whole time

TAndy called it!

Well met!

A noun defined

thx Mr. Ruccia

An excellent suggestion, Joe

Im also loving this song

When are you normally on?

I'm just subbing this season. Don't have time for a regular show, unfortunately

dam. loving it. I'll have to keep up with the calendar to find you on the radio cause you really do put on a great show

Oh, thanks. It's always a pleasure to get to play tunes for y'all

I think prepared shows are work for sure. Labor of love level.

That mix tape for a friend stuff...

That's the magic of wprb that keeps me coming back for sure. No other radio station does a few hours of music that one or a couple people put together to share

at least on my radio signal

My dial even while idle! :)

That's the goal! Music by people, for people, curated and mixed by people based on whatever whims strike us on a given day.

This freeform madness is wonderful!

It can be not good as well, but that is more of a personal taste issue. But if that is your taste it's next level too.

It goes genius on a bunch of levels.

Yeah you're right... I don't like at least half of the shows on 1033 but like that's my opinion. None of them are curated to a neutral taste

No human being is going to be loved by everybody, so no wprb show is going to be loved by everybody

@Joe Roohr, yup! My opinion is just what I can bring to the table. I love watching the other brains dance.

Hell sometimes on a long drive I'll leave on a show that I'm completely not vibing with just because the humanity oozes out of the speakers and its refreshing in this advertiser-friendly, market-researched world

"Brains Dance" is such a good way to word it man you're a poet

I was forced into the poet gig! LOL!

I wish I had an English accent so people would take me more seriously.

Fizzy pops are much more sophisticated in 2029 when you're English

I could go for a fizzy pop rn. too bad I'm not english

Soda is that which sparkles without light.

deep

damn this is a gorgeous song

It really is

This is Ricky Ricardo Retardo level. Love it!

However, I am rally stupid in my off time...

That impression was incredible

Dusty Plasma is the 4th state of matter thinking of itself as a 5th state. I did hard time in that school of electro-optics! lol.

Thanks for stuff Dan! Be well and see you about!

Thanks for listening, Roffle! Till next time

wow, what a piece

thanks for the show good tunes

Thanks, Maple! Glad you've been digging it

Thanks for the tunes Dan have a good night :]

Thanks for listening everyone! See you next time

My strings have octo's. Obvious conspiracy. hmmm....
