@TAndy - I don’t eat any seafood of any kind, which means when eating with family in a shore town, I’m stuck with the one sad non-seafood option in seafood restaurants

@Commie Francis - One definite labor song I played earlier today was McAlpine’s Fusiliers, complete with a line about getting “thrown behind the big mixer” if you go ask for your pay

I think Sparks’ “Pineapple” might have a line like that too. But you probably have more than enough sweaty songs pulled

sparks definitely have a song about reduction through sweatiness, i forget which. i didn't think it was pineapple but you probably know better than me

Pineapple def has lines about weight loss, but I don’t see sweat line specifically. Slapp Happy’s Everybody’s Slimmin’ very much does have sweaty lyrics. There’s also Sparks’ Tips for Teens, which has weight loss lines “What’s in that burger? Has it got mayonnaise? Give it to me!” But u don’t think sweat in particular

A random stranger in conversation asked me last night after the Memorials show, “what’s the difference between punk and hardcore?” He was very young and seemed to legitimately want to know. I said, aside from being a very macho subculture, hardcore of my era had a lot less of a sense of humor than punk!

as a child of the 90s it was a little confusing cause like, minor threat was hardcore but they didn't sound like what my peers were listening to

Yeah exactly. There were early hardcore bands that I liked. I loved MT’s Good Guys Don't Wear White. But then I had a friend who dated a hardcore guy in Richmond and went with her to some house shows and was noooot into that scene, whereas most of my friends lived in crunchy punk houses where we did Food Not Bombs and made our own soy milk (which I 100% cannot digest anymore cuz I’m old!)

dj, I saw Moistboyz at a small club in northern CA and it was sweaty and moist. 2/5 of members in cowboy boots. Dean Ween played on his back laying down on the stage a bit. After they played all that was left was ringing ears and a crumpled empty pack of Marlboro Red onstage.
