@DJ Esque, I've skimmed bits of Spinetta's and Garcia's wiki articles. I have no recollection of hearing their music back in the late 80s when I was listening to Spanish-language AM radio stations in DC. (Which is not to say I didn't hear them, I simply don't remember now)

Other than a La Sonora Dinamita (cumbia) comp, all the albums I bought during that period were Spanish-language pop albums
