that’s just it I couldn’t tell from the sound. It sounded just like it was an E bow, but I looked it up and it’s Robert being all invented

geez, the voice to text keeps messing up. It was Robert Fripp being inventive. He stated he never used an e-bow to create those Guitar sounds

he did it using “Frippertronics” which to be totally honest with you I had always heard of it and I just know it’s something to do with tape loops and tape delays and all that kind of shit. It sounds just sounds like a very complicated way to get certain sounds, but he was very good at doing that. Nowadays, those sounds are way easier to come by just with pedals and what not.

No, I’m not discounting anything on Guitar. I’ve had a moments throughout my life, But bass is something. I really love playing, but I’m just not very good at, but I really enjoy it.

first time I ever heard the Red House Painters they did a cover of “shock me“ by KISS. Which I thought was so cool like nowadays you hear way different versions like cover versions of songs, but they were kind of groundbreaking with that doing this real mellow version of a rock tune like that. I was a huge KISS fan as a kid

I mean everything the dude does is pretty much the same. Doesn’t matter if it’s Red House Painters or Sun Kil Moon or shock me or this tune everything sounds pretty much the same. I dig it but it’s very similar to each other. That dude was also in the movie “almost famous” as a member of the band Stillwater .

I watched it again recently. I always liked the character he plays. He manages to have a presence & the timing of that line in the scene reminds me of every band tif I have ever witnessed.

in a lot of ways, it is every band that ever existed. At least every band I’ve been in. I mean, there are nuanced differences, but it’s the personalities. And it doesn’t matter what level of success – or no success at all – it’s all the same. Lots of arguing.
