Mike Music Hour... I just learned that GenX (of which I am part) is the first generation to have been told to turn their music down by their parents AND their kids. Can attest.

I'm from the generation where EVERYONE wants us to turn our "noise" off. Late millennial heheh

Even more true for gen z. Getting old is fun!

The scene: 1980-something. Teenage me is in his bedroom, blasting his shiny new Minor Threat record. In marches my mother who proceeds to my stereo, turns down the volume, faces me, and says (famously): "WHY IS THAT MAN SCREAMING AT ME?"

Trying this on my phone for the first time because I'm old.

I do want to have a discussion about what freeform radio means and how it works. And should we play REM on the radio now that they are huge and everyone loves them.

And I must say, as fun as the chat is, it hurts my brain to hear it mentioned so much on the air.

I think i heard this earlier this month. The gang vocals and chorus reminded me of an act we saw at folk fest years ago called ADG7. They were suuuper catchy, and theatrical
