To accomplish this, I must brave the traffic from the farthest reaches of Northwest Philadelphia to get to South Jersey for my family's annual picnic - crossing BOTH the World Cup Fanzone in Lemon Hill section of Fairmount Park on a World Cup Game Day, AND Welcome America 250 Ben Franklin Parkway closures to make it to 676!

@Roffleaphonic - I skipped an outdoor concert last night. I cannot! listened to the fireworks from inside my house!

Sadly, the upstairs A/C in my house is broken and it's over 100 upstairs and I have guests coming to stay shortly after my birthday! Eeek! Been blocking all the cooler air into one area

I can see the Ben Franklin Bridge from my roof, I ain't goin' nowhere. Last time I went to Penn's landing on the 4th people were throwing cherry bombs onto the crowded walkway. Never again. But a slushie sounds like the right idea addie..

@Alex from Media - I found these watermelon flavor "Johnny Pops" popsicles recently and I love them! That and actual watermelon is my primary go-to!

If it’s not storming I might try going over to Drexel park to watch the ‘works.

Mmm I could go for some real watermelon slices right now.

@Lizbot, my A/C is on work order. Currently 96 in my apartment. Crummy timing for a heat wave.

@addie “5 snakes” plum 🐍 - haha, I used to do that! Me & my brother also made soooo much lemon squash, lemonade, lime concoctions, smashed pops, whatever we could find! The worst was the powdered stuff, though, like Country Time or Crystal Light! My mom always bought Crystal Light and I swear to god it's diet because it's designed for you to cough up like 90% of the powder!

@Ted - I reeeeally need to save a LOT of data from my dying old desktop Mac that is stubbornly no longer letting me back it up or hook it to an eternal drive. it is VERY much not on "the cloud". It's super old and so many 2000s photos are trapped on it!

@Ted - I have a lot of great show photos on there, and me with Ron Mael, plus old Glenn Branca photos from various cities and performances, including when we stuck into the Harry Partch instrument room in Montclair in the mid-2000s! Everyone was asking for those when I was at the Branca tribute last month. That computer is on its last legs, so it's so hard to extract stuff from it! No file transfer site works! No Google Driver

@Ted - Yeah I haven't gone to any of Montreal shows in quite a long time, over a decade. They're one of those bands that keeps touring and I make note of when they're coming, but I haven't bit the bullet and gone back to see them. Not as into their recent albums. I loved them in the early 2000s. I saw them at North Star Bar with Peelander-Z! Poor Peelander-Z had a horrible touring van accident recently!

@Dale Hazelton - The old studio had a dank old sofa that looked like ground beef. This one has none. Just as well!

That’s terrible about Peelander-Z. I am unfamiliar but will check them out tonight. It’s like Oliver Tree - I never heard of him until he died but I find him fascinating. This is not a good way to discover music!

@TAndy - haha, my mom was always doing that on our family roadtrips! I proudly own a spud-shaped pin from the Idaho Potato Museum for that reason! This trip, not much of that, but we did get to the James Thurber House in Columbus, OH!

@Lizbot, the only Sparks album I have is Kimono My House, which I bought because it has This House Ain't Big Enough, which was a big hit when I was able to pick up Radio Luxembourg in Italy after dark in 1974
