Jimi Hendrix The Star Spangled Banner (Record Plant, New York, NY, March 18, 1969)
Rainbow Bridge (Original Motion Picture Sound Track) Legacy Recordings 1971

Jimi Hendrix (1942-1970) was a self-taught electric guitar virtuoso. He began as a backup guitarist for R&B acts (Ike and Tina Turner, Sam Cooke, Wilson Pickett, Little Richard, The Isley Brothers, and B.B. King). Brought to London from New York by former Animals bassist Chas Chandler, Hendrix quickly established himself as the brightest new star on the burgeoning progressive rock scene of the early '60s. His innovative guitar style became quite influential despite his short career.

While his performance of The Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock is widely known, this studio recording is quite different, and practically orchestral.

Banjo players plugging into the Dunlop script logo Phaser stompbox guitar pedal is definitely a thing. Been going on since the 70s. Pete "Dr Banjo" Wernick of the band Hot Rize loves to break out that pedal sometimes. Pete has a crazy harrowing story about surviving a plane crash with his family and STILL making a gig in NY state. Had to he said. Helped deal with the tragic event to just play as planned. Cuts on his head and played on...

Ricky Skaggs carries the torch of his former bandleader Mr Monroe very well. So glad Ricky came back to Bluegrass world after a spell in 80s country. Always has great band. Marty Stuart too similar story.

@Dan C, My girlfriend brought home a bottle of Ethanol from the lab, she had no idea you could drink that legal moonshine, without the impurities and blindness. I still have it under the sink for cleaning lenses.
