Wow I knew Dudley Moore was great actor and comedian. Never knew of this musical aspect. You learn a lot at BUSKIRK U.

There's a meme of the Great Day in Harlem shot with all the people removed. I know Sonny was the last musician standing but I kinda feel like they murdered all the kids....

Love this Joe Henderson! I binged 5 days of WKCR last week. Miles Davis 3 days for his 100th. Then 2 days of Sonny Rollins Memorial. Time well spent. So so so many great tracks many whole lps or whole lp sides.

Couple weeks back on Sun Ra "Arrival Day" I heard a good archives interview or 2 with younger Phil Schaap and Sun Ra Ark members from late 80s. June Tyson and Richard Wilkinson I believe. Ears did a double take as I thought, "Oh yes that IS Phil's voice".

Phil used to emcee the Charlie Parker Jazz festival. He would ask very hard trivia questions for prizes. I whispered the answer to a young kid and he got a prize much to Phil’s shock and surprise.

Ha!

Add Jeff Goldblum to the comedy / actor Jazz piano club too. A pretty darn good player.

Nobody did it better than Steve Allen Dan.

Chevy Chase is still standing outside the door to that club trying to improv a "HEY LET ME IN!" insult joke.

Dudley Moore was the only unidexter ever to audition for the role of Tarzan.
