i tried to go magnet fishing the other day in washington crossing and my magnet got stuck really bad as soon as i threw it in. i think it was stuck to george washingtons secret bunker full of his clones

I've heard that from several folks in their 20s. Including a paralegal I know ... but she definitely needs a smart phone for her job. I never got a smart phone because I was working at home for a decade on an employer-issued computer, and for my breaks I looked at my laptop in another room

exactly everyone says it!! i think the hardest thing fo rme is so much of conversation and connection with my peers is laced with internet culture and i also grew up very involved in internet culture so i dont think im ready to make that disconnect just yet

I understand! If I had gotten a smart phone when I worked at home I would probably feel the same way. A lot of birding involves smart phones at some level. Fortunately I can access local birding GroupMe and Discord platforms on my laptop. But, once I leave the house I am usually flying blind (i.e. no updates about a bird) until I arrive at a destination and talk to birders
