Dan Buskirk (host) 12:08:46 PM
Welcome to monday Jazz!
Brian D 12:17:56 PM
Sounds great Dan! Was that something like Jackie Mittoo for the intro warmup instrumental back there?
Brian D 12:18:19 PM
Cool Reggae organ sounds
Dan Buskirk (host) 12:24:13 PM
"Eternally" by The Dynamites, Trojan 1969
Brian D 12:24:21 PM
Nice!
Dan Buskirk (host) 12:25:38 PM
Winston Wright on the keyboards....
TAndy 12:26:16 PM
Just keeping up with the summer sounds, eh Dan? 😉
Brian D 12:33:09 PM
Looking at some sun between the clouds here and there with beach in the distance. Ready for sunny warm weather sounds!
Dan Buskirk (host) 12:41:47 PM
Glad you're enjoying the summer=y weather!
Marcus Watt 12:42:21 PM
The Miroslav, DeJohnette, Rypdal album was excellent.
Brian D 12:43:32 PM
That Clifford was beaut. Ya working remote but with windows open down the shore. Nice time o year
Dan Buskirk (host) 12:48:30 PM
Yeah, glad to have the Brown on vinyl again!
Patrick White 1:08:44 PM
Greetings and good day to Dan , Marcus , Bucks County Beach Bum and all listeners
Marcus Watt 1:08:51 PM
Steve Gunn is from my home town in Lansdowne
Patrick White 1:09:02 PM
And handy Tandy
Marcus Watt 1:09:54 PM
As is Kurt Vile.
Patrick White 1:09:58 PM
Lansdowne now has I believe 3 stellar concert venues. The folk place, Jamey’s and the movie theater?
Marcus Watt 1:11:13 PM
Yes, lived here off and on my whole life.
Patrick White 1:11:54 PM
Kurt Vile great musician by not as fast as Leroy Burrell
Marcus Watt 1:13:34 PM
You know Lansdowne. I remember Leroy.
Dan Buskirk (host) 1:13:56 PM
Lansdowne seems like it should have a record store...
Marcus Watt 1:15:14 PM
It does. I don't buy or sell these days.
Dan Buskirk (host) 1:16:39 PM
Just Say No.
Brian D 1:17:01 PM
Sonny!
Dan Buskirk (host) 1:18:14 PM
I don't play enough of 'im!
Marcus Watt 1:26:33 PM
Saw Sonny at the Painted Bride around the time of Seize the Rainbow. Just amazing.
Patrick White 1:27:56 PM
Mourning the passing of Dash Croft. DIAMOND GIRL was a great record
Dan Buskirk (host) 1:36:34 PM
My brother had the Quadrophonic eight track of DIAMOND GIRL, I loved remixing it!
Dan Buskirk (host) 1:38:02 PM
Jemeel with a first-class rhythm section here...
Patrick White 1:38:36 PM
Surprised how little attention paid to his passing and the Three Dog Night lead singer. They were radio constants during my formative listening years
Dan Buskirk (host) 1:40:03 PM
Three Dog Night were my first favorite band, after The Beatles.
Dan Buskirk (host) 1:40:22 PM
The Beatles should have performed more songs about frogs.
Marcus Watt 1:42:10 PM
I bought Three Dog Night's first two albums.
Marcus Watt 1:43:28 PM
Who the hell else would cover Chest Fever?
Dan Buskirk (host) 1:44:47 PM
I had CAPTURED LIVE AT THE FORUM and IT AIN'T EASY. My older brother had a couple too...
Patrick White 1:47:07 PM
Chuck Negron was an All NYC public hs basketball player at Taft HS
Dan Buskirk (host) 1:51:21 PM
it's Negron who recently died?
Patrick White 1:52:09 PM
Saw BUSKIRK favorite Joan Blondell the other day in her debut. Pre Code The Office Wife . Just a dominant performer. Yes it was Chuck Negron .
Marcus Watt 1:52:27 PM
Only mistake from their early years was covering God Bless the Child.
Marcus Watt 1:54:04 PM
Joan B. was terrific.
Dan Buskirk (host) 1:55:39 PM
Just watched WON TON TON: THE DOG WHO SAVED HOLLYWOOD, among the parade of old stars, Joan Blondell. Probably was still working more than her peers at that time.
Dan Buskirk (host) 2:01:44 PM
Brook with Quincy Jones and the Orchestra here...
Dan Buskirk (host) 2:13:08 PM
Dolby spinning at 45...
Rob from Maryland 🦀 2:14:55 PM
I stopped by because of Thomas Dolby, ty Dan
Rob from Maryland 🦀 2:15:50 PM
And I have to leave, sadly
Dan Buskirk (host) 2:17:09 PM
Who was that masked man?
Roy Cole 2:23:39 PM
Love this set! 80’s crush!
mike ski 2:24:47 PM
Hey Dan , that Philly station was WWDB 96.5 fm. 1968 -75 Then went to all talk but still retained old Sid Mark : Fridays with Frank ., and Sundays with Sinatra! Those were the days. Now I I think it’s a mindless pop station playing stuff like that bird legs girl Taylor Swift thru the night. God help us! Mike Ski , Claymont
Dan Buskirk (host) 2:28:27 PM
Actually, I was thinking of the AM station WPEN: Station of the Stars....
Marcus Watt 2:28:57 PM
I can get annoying, but I saw Thomas Dolby at the height of his fame at the Tower.
Dan Buskirk (host) 2:30:05 PM
I thought he was going to have a longer run....
Marcus Watt 2:31:44 PM
My wife thought he was hot.
Marcus Watt 2:32:19 PM
Him and Fripp.
Patrick White 2:34:01 PM
The world was a better place with WWDB AND WPEN in it. I even miss Paul Harvey and I didn’t agree with him for the most part…And now you know the rest of the story!
Patrick White 2:42:10 PM
Darryl Hall has refiormed Hall and Oates with John being replaced by Joyce Carol Oates .
michael gudgeon 2:47:13 PM
nice who was that masked man drop ! this song is sick!
Dan Buskirk (host) 2:47:14 PM
Better lyrics!
Marcus Watt 2:49:18 PM
When you get older, you don't remember whether Joyce Carol Oates is alive or not.
Patrick White 2:51:38 PM
She is a Princetonian. Always hope she would pop in the barge for a session. I think her and WILBO would be good duo
Patrick White 2:52:48 PM
Not a big rap guy but if the Roots picnic invites AFROMAN I will be there
Amy Lee 2:55:12 PM
Thanks for another other great show! Been listening while keeping on task working around the house.
Dan Buskirk (host) 2:55:26 PM
Thanks for listening!
Patrick White 2:55:28 PM
All Hail BUSKIRK for brightening up Mondays.Everyone have a great rest of the week
