I actually exchanged letters with Batish years ago, pre-WWW. I got his address from one of the WXPN DJs back then after they played some tracks from "Sitar Power". His father SD Batish apparently was a friend of Ravi Shankar as well.

Transglobal Underground was quite popular in the Burning Man DJ community for my first Burn in 1998. I discovered them about the same time as Banco de Gaia. We played a lot of their music at our local gatherings.
