Debbie, ah. I asked a NJ birder friend about seeing Brown Pelicans in NJ (and looked at the eBird species map) and you could/should see at least a few in the summer at Island Beach State Park and Barnegat Lighthouse. It would be best to go on a summer weekday, or early on a weekend day.
