The Bombay Sisters, C. Saroja (b. 1936) and C. Lalitha (1938 - 2023), were a Carnatic music singing duo. from Trichur, Kerala. They had their musical training with H. A. S. Mani, Musiri Subramania Iyer and T. K. Govinda Rao. Since they were groomed in Carnatic Music in Mumbai, they were referred to as the "Bombay Sisters".

Dr. N. Rajam was born in 1938, and is the sister of violinist T. N. Krishnan. Rajam started her initial training in Carnatic music under her father, A. Narayana Iyer. She also trained under Musiri Subramania Iyer, and learned raga development from Hindustani vocalist Omkarnath Thakur. She became a professor of Music at Banaras Hindu University, and eventually became head of the department and the dean of the Faculty of Performing Arts of the University. Her daughter Sangeeta Shankar was born on 12 August 1965. While the two normally perform Hindustani music, this is a CD of Carnatic kritis.

Malini Rajurkar (1941-2023) represented the Gwalior gharana. She had been teaching high school mathematics in Ajmer, Rajasthan. She received a scholarship to study music at Ajmer Music College, where she learnt from Govindrao Rajurkar, and his nephew Vasantrao Rajurkar, who became her husband.
