The Bombay Sisters, C. Saroja (b. 1936) and C. Lalitha (1938 - 2023), were a Carnatic music singing duo. from Trichur, Kerala. They had their musical training with H. A. S. Mani, Musiri Subramania Iyer and T. K. Govinda Rao. Since they were groomed in Carnatic Music in Mumbai, they were referred to as the "Bombay Sisters".

Dr. N. Rajam was born in 1938, and is the sister of violinist T. N. Krishnan. Rajam started her initial training in Carnatic music under her father, A. Narayana Iyer. She also trained under Musiri Subramania Iyer, and learned raga development from Hindustani vocalist Omkarnath Thakur. She became a professor of Music at Banaras Hindu University, and eventually became head of the department and the dean of the Faculty of Performing Arts of the University. Her daughter Sangeeta Shankar was born on 12 August 1965. While the two normally perform Hindustani music, this is a CD of Carnatic kritis.

Malini Rajurkar (1941-2023) represented the Gwalior gharana. She had been teaching high school mathematics in Ajmer, Rajasthan. She received a scholarship to study music at Ajmer Music College, where she learnt from Govindrao Rajurkar, and his nephew Vasantrao Rajurkar, who became her husband.

Aruna Narayan Kalle, born in Mumbai circa 1954-1955, is the daughter of sarangi virtuoso Ram Narayan.

Echampati Gayathri (née Gayathri Vasantha Shoba), popularly known as "Veena Gayathri" was born in 1959 in Andhra Pradesh.

After receiving training from her parents, she learnt from vocalist T.M. Thyagarajan, and violinist M.S. Gopalakrishnan.

"Mehndi Geet" is a traditional wedding song, relating to "mehndi", the henna tattoos applied to the bride's hands and feet.

Dr. M. Lalitha and M. Nandini play electric violins. They are nieces of L. Shankar and L. Subramaniam.

Arundhati Holme Chowdhury is an exponent of Rabindrasangeet (songs of Rabindranath Tagore) and a playback singer mainly for Bengali cinema.

Kishori Amonkar (1932 – 2017) was a HIndustani vocalist representing the Jaipur gharana, but incorporated other styles. Her initial teacher was her mother Mogubai Kurdikar.
