I don't like to associate St. Patrick's Day with alcohol, although the drunkest I ever got in my life was on St. Patrick's Day 1970 in Madison Wisconsin on 15 cent green beers. Had to show the Wisconsin boys that we Philadelphians knew how to drink! I, however, did not!

I went to Boston last week to hear Van Morrison. At age 80 he sounds better than ever. And unlike the Pauls McCartney and Simon his intonation is perfect. No bum notes.

Every Joe McDonald obituary article I’ve seen makes you think "I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-to-Die Rag" from the Woodstock documentary is the only thing he ever did. It’s sad that that’s his main claim to fame. The Fish broke up by the time that movie came out so it didn’t do them any good.
