Yes! YES!! When I heard the opening of Ayten Alpman's "Ve Tanrı Aşkı Yarattı" I totally thought it was a Turkish language cover of Peggy Lee's 1958 pop hit "Fever"!

This Nilüfer is reminding me of the 1973/74 song by Anne Marie David "Wonderful Dream". I could easily be wrong as I haven't heard the latter in decades

They are. I think the English version's words and certainly title are different from the original French version's title

not unexpected tho... many Turkish hits of the era had their melodies borrowed from western artists and I just pretend that they are different for my mind's sanity

"Tu te reconnaîtras" is the French version ("You'll recognize yourself")

I've noticed a few English-language songs had their melodies incorporated/appropriated into Spanish-language songs, but the lyrics/subject matters are sometimes rather different

absolutely absolutely, even more contemporary stuff like the Turkish rock band Duman takes melodies from those years - I tend to forget they are not originals because of how famous the people sampling it are

"Üzüntüyü Bırak Yaşamaya Bak" ("Live Your Life, Don't Be Sad") was a big English language hit in 1968 recorded by Mary Hopkin (producer, Paul McCartney) under the title "Those Were the Days"; written by American songwriter Gene Raskin and based on a Russian song "Dorogoi dlinnoyu" (The Long Road) by Boris Fomin. The English language version was about not-quite-lost youthful idealism.
