hi richard! I have no affiliation with the university. I grew up in the Philly suburbs listening to WPRB in the 90s and auditioned to become a community DJ in 2018

Pat, in 1999 I auditioned for stupid human tricks, late night with David Letterman. Didn’t make the cut unfortunately. A double jointed teen boy did however. Wriggling his shoulder blades.

audition also not the write word. I really submitted a form where I answered some questions and pitched a show and some set ideas. then I got selected and then I had to go through training and then I had to submit to get on the schedule

Albini, the late Steve? I visited him, his studio on Belmont Ave. in Chicago. Passed it twice every day. Astonishing collection of guitar amps, etc.

he originally produced fugazi's in on the kill taker but the band shelved it and rerecorded it. it's been oft bootlegged but dischord recordds announced this morning they've officially released the albini tracks on bandcamp

My art restoration business was a few blocks from Albini’s studio. 25 years at that location, before I took a job in upstate NY.

That's awesome! My wife is a curator and I've attened many an open house at the Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts in Philly. Fascincating stuff.

I had many, many Antiques Roadshow moments over the years.

Met a NYC conservator who restored a torn up police mugshot, taken from waste basket, of…Paul Rubens. Imagine what that’$ worth today?

I would love to get into film restoration but I don't think I have the actual patience for it also I do not want to go back to school. Nice idea on paper though.

I restored Kevin’s strategic battle plan, for late director of “Home Alone”, John Hughes. Offices north shore of Chicago. Not to boast, I hate that.

My son and I have been borrowing the Pee Wee's Playhouse DVDs from the library. It's super fun watching that with him. He cackles at all the gags and screams at the word of the day.

@Pat -- I meant to chime in when you first mentioned the diss to 'Janet Planet' a week (a few weeks?) ago. So my mom and mom-in-law went to see it when it came out, maybe together or maybe separately with other friends. My mom LOVED it and makes reference to it frequently. Meanwhile, my MIL, her friends, my mom's friends, etc. mostly despised it -- often based upon what they considered Janet's poor parenting skills and self-absorption and spacey passivity. That's definitely part of what my mom responded to so positively. But she also retrospectively wishes she had parented me more like Janet did her daughter (Yikes?).

@Jon & @Pat -- Coincidentally, a house right across the street from ours is in the midst of being completely razed. I heard a noise like a helicopter hovering low over my radio listening space and got sorta paranoid at first. Turns out it was just a dump truck at the demolition site!
