We got at least 14" of snow according to my tape measure but it was easy to clear as a team. Was able to go for a walk on empty streets by the afternoon.

Rob, it was fascinating (to me) with this last storm. A few intrepid folks were calling it a possible enormous snowfall early. Then the other models and prognosticators caught up with them and when all was said and done they were basically on the same page.

Whoops!! I messed it up too. Regrets.

Happens to the best of us. Not a town I think I've ever spelled right the first try.

Jon, yes indeed! One model run gave a SEVENTY THREE INCH snowfall for a tiny region of the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. I was like absolutely no way. Later, a different model was giving insane amounts for DC proper (like 32 inches) as well as for the Jersey shore and Long Island. Unfortunately for you they were correct.

A recent eBay pick-up, mostly so I could get a better photo of some of the artwork to assist a friend's tattoo idea...

It flew off eventually. I'll try and remember to tell you the story as I understand it later. Beautiful bird. Not a wood duck, as originally mis-identified.

Mandarin Duck quacks are tonal. Difficulty level is high to ID them.

I sent a photo of the duck to a trio of birders. Only the friend of my kid got it right initially. One was frustrated he didn't zoom in enough to get it right.

I wish I remembered more about how I mic'd a theremin!

I honestly did not think Theremin, but I just love the idea.

Guys with a banjo and an upright bass does not hit me with Theremin. lol

I got around a theremin once and tried to play it. No matter how gently and carefully i cupped my hands around the heat sensors (which turn the signals into musical tones), I couldn't get anything out of it - nyet! - nought but squawks!

One Spring Break in middle school we went to as many area museums we'd never been to as possible. This was among the highlights.

Every time I drive through Scranton I see a sign for the Anthracite museum. And so far have not lived up to my promise to myself to someday stop and visit. I fear regretting this on my deathbed someday.
