I saw a movie recently that resonated that way for me - it's called "Columbus", It's got gorgeous cinematography as well as deep emotional feeling.

It's available through your library if they have Kanopy.

i'll take a look for it! any idea what year it's from? i feel like there might be a lot of things titled "columbus"

Speaking of libraries, I found out that mine has all access to the New York Times, language - learning appa, and a lot more. Hailing up local libraries!!!

libraries rule! the thing i love most about libraries right now is that you can check out ebooks from them right to your kindle! so if you finish a book at 10pm, you aren't stuck without reading material till business hours

On the library front, through various orgs & jobs, I have unintentionally acquired membership to more than a few & all have various offerings.

@Readie depends on the size of the tattoo and if it’s color or not. The one I just linked to took about 4.5 hours and he ended up having to put some lidocaine on me so I could make it through.

@Amy Lee - there are so many resources - recently there was a zoom about the Lenape first nation that were here in the Princeton area long before colonial Europeans...

*different offerings. Different counties, states. uni memberships. Came across a now-favorite diary entry from 8 y/o me that simply states 'I got my library card today'.

If you ever can catch Bethlehem and Sad Patrick - you should. Bethlehem uses her whole body as an instrument from clog style foot work to body slaps etc. It is a neato show/

at first, it seems unnatural to talk into a microphone...but you're really just talking to a person- or people- or family - when you're on the radio!

You can look a camera in the eye, but a mike looks like a snake ready to go for your throat LOL

Li Maria: Not all FM receivers are the same, also for FM elevation helps, the highest room in the house as FM sigs are mostly line of sight, except cloudy nights help somewhat as the sigs bounce off the clouds...

@Alan--I did notice that about the cloudy, rainy days! I told my husband and he thought i was crazy

@Alan, also noticed that a receiver that a friend gave me couldn't get PRB at all, not even with an antenna. I gave it back

Li Maria: Radio signals above 100Mhz don't bounce off the ionosphere, go straight into Outer Space (for Aliens!), but cloudy rainy nights give the signal something to bounce off of...

@Alan--interesting! So it's more difficult to get radio stations the further up the dial they are?

Or, over 100, I guess...

Li Maria: Yep... the cutoff is right around 100 Mhz
