Greetings and Happy Super Bowl Sunday to all . Happy 214 th birthday to Charles Dickens
Patrick White 6:13:11 PM
Was anyone able to attend last weeks Loudon Wainwright concert? I wanted to attend but couldn’t afford the 110$ ducats
Patrick White 6:18:59 PM
Sad to hear about the Washington Post destruction by their Oligarch owner. I used to purchase in Center Citu Mondays, Wednesday and Sunday. A truly great well written product defanged by a soulless coward.
Rob from snow-crete-blanketed Maryland 🦀 6:20:18 PM
Patrick, yep!
Richard Lyons 6:24:37 PM
Indeed
Patrick White 6:27:16 PM
I have a news guy . He delivers the WSJ and FT every Saturday morning. Truly heroic figure. Not one other person on my block gets a newspaper
Patrick White 6:32:17 PM
Shout out to great newsstands of the past . Broad and Locust, 5th street Allentown,Trenton Train Station, Hamburger placeCookman Avenue Asbury Park and that bodega on RTE 29 that used to save a week of Star Ledgrers for me

Patrick White 6:43:01 PM
Don’t we usually hear Andy Griffith this Sunday show
Patrick White 6:49:21 PM
I’ve never been invited to a Super Bowl Party. Which is actually a good thing because the guests would appreciate me playing Johns show on the radio
Michael from Frenchtown 6:50:19 PM
I miss Todd Snider.
Russell Woessner 6:51:31 PM
When I delivered the Philadelphia Inquier, the subscription cost 8 cents six days a week and 20 cents on Sunday. 68 cents for a full week. Now a week's home delivery costs $3 a week and includes print and digital access. And the paper is a pale shadow of its former glory. But at least it still exists.
Patrick White 6:53:08 PM
Hey Russ Wagon or Bicyle?
Richard Lyons 6:53:44 PM
TOM!
Patrick White 6:53:50 PM
The Storyteller!!!
Russell Woessner 6:53:50 PM
Bike until somebody stole from in front of the Acme.
Patrick White 6:54:15 PM
SWP was rough even then.
Russell Woessner 6:54:43 PM
Yep
Patrick White 6:55:58 PM
In honor of the 2 teams playing my favorite Seattle Song…Bluest Skies you Ever Seen by Perry Como.. For New England I go with Roadrunner by Jonathan Richman
Michael from Frenchtown 6:57:07 PM
The Newark Star-Ledger was five cents on weekdays when I delivered it in about 1963.
Patrick White 6:57:58 PM
Did you deliver it to Tony Sopranos dad or Uncle Junior?
Michael from Frenchtown 7:00:39 PM
Sadly, no.
Patrick White 7:00:55 PM
Hey Russ remember when we had 4 daily newspapers ?
Russell Woessner 7:02:14 PM
I only remember three: the Inky, Bulletin & Daily News. What was the other one?
Patrick White 7:02:17 PM
Michael that show made it one of the most famous papers in USA then 20 years later no mors
Patrick White 7:02:57 PM
They had awful sports oriented Philadelphia Journal maybe 2 or 3 years
Russell Woessner 7:03:23 PM
oh yeah
Michael from Frenchtown 7:04:02 PM
Star-Ledger now digital only.
Patrick White 7:04:26 PM
I usually mute the half time show but I will watch Mr Bunny since he is making all these fascist heads explode
Rob from snow-crete-blanketed Maryland 🦀 7:06:09 PM
Loving this Mary Chapin Carpenter song
Rob from snow-crete-blanketed Maryland 🦀 7:06:21 PM
though I never went to the Twist and Shout
Patrick White 7:07:23 PM
I enjoy MS Carpenter but when it comes to Supet Bowl acts I prefer Up With People, Al Hirt and Grambling State Marching Band.
Patrick White 7:08:31 PM
Watched an old Andy show that had a great bluegrass band called The Kentucky Colonels
Michael from Frenchtown 7:47:08 PM
Great Honky Tonk set.
Patrick White 7:49:42 PM
As per usual Johns show more entertaining than the SUPER BOWL
Patrick White 7:53:14 PM
