She grew up in Medellin, with frequent trips to Paris, and is heavily influenced by traditional bambucos, Boleros and Tangos, as well as Tumbaos, the basic rhythms played on the bass in Afro-Cuban music, from artists such as Joe Arrovo and Omara Portuondo.
