Patrick White 12:03:49 PM
Greetings to Gordski and his acolytes. Hope everyone has a great 2026 . Happy Healthy Prosperous
Mike Constantine 12:03:52 PM
It's a bit obscure I guess...Paul considers it filler
rick hallahan 12:04:12 PM
Hey Patrick!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:04:36 PM
Beatles 65 American version never got a whole lot of play from me.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:05:03 PM
Hi Patrick, thank you, glad to see you.
Mike Constantine 12:05:39 PM
Fun fact, it was written in Atlantic City
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:06:03 PM
Tell me more
Mike Constantine 12:06:37 PM
On the 64 tour and recorded in the Fall
Patrick White 12:06:43 PM
The only obscure I recognize is Dave The. What a great program this morning. Also shoutout to Jude The Obscure.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:07:10 PM
My conversation with Mike is about a Beatles song I heard last night, and I never heard it before. Asked Mike.
Mike Constantine 12:07:20 PM
Love the Difficult Listening Hour
Mike Constantine 12:07:51 PM
It's thought the song is about Jane Asher
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:07:52 PM
Is that the first hour of the show?
Mike Constantine 12:08:19 PM
Last
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:09:08 PM
Patrick, what is going on?
Patrick White 12:10:15 PM
50 years ago limited local entertainment options. David Amram,Gary Burton,Julie Gold,,Jan Hammer. Some war crime called Disco Dancing at The Spectrum. Jimmy Castor solo appearance with his lovely new bride Bertha Something or other.
Patrick White 12:11:32 PM
Also 50 years ago The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the mighty Red Army of Moscow and sent them Back to Back To Back To the USSR.
rick hallahan 12:12:12 PM
That Red Army game was a true classic!
Brian D 12:12:36 PM
Like that Sarathy Korwar beat pulsing one to start there
Mike Constantine 12:13:10 PM
Sure was. I think it was Ed Van Impe that caused a few problems
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:14:51 PM
Hi Brian!
Patrick White 12:14:56 PM
The Red Army had defeated all comers in NHL. The whole league was rooting for the Flyers.
Brian D 12:15:54 PM
Creole-Lady-EE-Hooooo
rick hallahan 12:16:04 PM
When the Red Army team walked off the ice to the locker room I thought WW3 was about to start.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:16:51 PM
I hope we will be experiencing exciting hockey again. There were some great moments associated with our guys.
Mike Constantine 12:17:46 PM
Watched it in a bar and the place went nuts
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:17:56 PM
Julie Gold was in my wife's high school class and they still communicate.
rick hallahan 12:18:23 PM
That's impressive!
Brian D 12:20:30 PM
Love that reachin in the piano and strumming the strings sound
Patrick White 12:20:34 PM
I thought I saw Julie Gold the other day. I’m not sure because it was from a distance
rick hallahan 12:20:55 PM
This is a great tune. Always loved to hear Leon Thomas vocalize.
Brian D 12:21:29 PM
Patrick got into a heated argument with Stevie Wonder one time. He tried to get Stevie to understand his side of things. But Stevie just couldn't see it. Too soon.
Mike Constantine 12:22:21 PM
Ha!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:22:24 PM

Thanks, Richard.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:36:26 PM

Thank you Patrick and Mike for the kind words
Patrick White 12:40:49 PM
Thank you Dave for such a unique well curated program.
Patrick White 12:43:10 PM
Jerry was always in a good mood when Wilbert Montgomery walked in the door. Jerry like Uncle Floyd was also an unlikely hero to the punk rock community due to his top 10 upstairs and punk section downstairs.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:46:34 PM
Wilbert bought Blowfly albums!
Patrick White 12:47:43 PM
Good thing Wilbert didn’t bring in his college teammate Tex Cobb. He would have broke a lot of furniture and records
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:49:08 PM
Great memory, Patrick. Also strong in the memory department is Mike C
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:49:15 PM
And Rick!
Jim 12:54:15 PM
thx Jerry, this Handy piece was always a fave; best for the new year, Jim
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:55:43 PM
Hi Jim, same to you, thank you! yes, this is a beauty. I'm not surprised you love it, I'm only surprised if you weren't there!
Jim 12:58:33 PM
funny u should say that, some years ago I saw him in NYC at Dizzy's Club, where he reprised that album, maybe almost as good? lol
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:58:48 PM
Historic!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:58:58 PM
Who was in the band?
Lester Wiggs 1:02:55 PM
lol used to see Tex Cobb in the grocery store in West Philly.
Patrick White 1:03:29 PM
The Band consisted of Levon Helm, Rick Danko,Garth Hudson,Robbie Robertson and Richard Manuel.
Patrick White 1:04:23 PM
Tex Cobb last sighting for me was the thieving auto junkyard parts places in bucolic SWP
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:05:27 PM
Hi Lester! I remember Tex Cobb in Philly. What was the story there?
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:08:27 PM
Ha, Patrick! Thank you for the answer!
Lester Wiggs 1:10:48 PM
I have no idea. I was only ever at the Blue Horizon boxing venue twice, I saw him there, in the crowd. I don't even how I knew it was him, since I'm not much of a sports fan. But seeing him in person, he is quite a big man. Always had a huge grin on his face as I recall.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:13:07 PM
This is coming back to me. Was he trained by Joe Frazier? Patrick?
Mike Constantine 1:15:16 PM
He was right up there with Chuck Wepner
Patrick White 1:22:26 PM
Randall was trained by the great George Benton. Actually Mike he was pretty good. Beat Ken Norton and Earnie Shavers
Roffle 0x7EA 1:22:59 PM
Would not like the punch-drunk hangovers. Not my kind of gig.
Roffle 0x7EA 1:23:07 PM
Hi!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:25:56 PM
How come I remember Earnie Shavers but don't remember what I did yesterday?
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:26:07 PM
Hi Roffle, welcome!
Roffle 0x7EA 1:26:43 PM
I think all of these electric violins have a built in phase shifter for some reason.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:27:13 PM
They have something going on!
Mike Constantine 1:27:15 PM
Life in our 70's, Jerry
Patrick White 1:27:34 PM
Ali taunted him as The Acorn but almost lost to him.
rick hallahan 1:28:16 PM
Mike, you are so right.
Roffle 0x7EA 1:28:39 PM
Ali lived in Cherry Hill, which I could never figure out.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:29:16 PM
How much did we love boxing? I used to watch with my Dad, great memories!
Patrick White 1:29:18 PM
Glad to see Poland represented 🇵🇱. Starving Marvin Rosen is a big adherent of Polish music especially the Warsaw Philharmonic Choir.
Roffle 0x7EA 1:29:53 PM
His wife is quite Polish. lol
Roffle 0x7EA 1:30:15 PM
And very charming
Patrick White 1:31:23 PM
Ali wanted to live near his good buddy Major Coxson
rick hallahan 1:31:32 PM
Speaking of Polish, the best blackberry brandy in the world is Jeznowka.
Roffle 0x7EA 1:32:36 PM
Is that made in Jersey City?
rick hallahan 1:33:31 PM
Haha!
Patrick White 1:34:49 PM
I think all the Polish of Jersey City have fled to Linden. Lot of good Polish Eats there. Also Trenton Farmers Market on Spruce street top notch Polish deli
Roffle 0x7EA 1:35:28 PM
@Patrick, is that the reason? I could never figure out why, with all his money, Cherry Hill. I like Cherry Hill, lived in Moorestown, it's rather lovely in it's way, but I would have house shopped a bit.
Roffle 0x7EA 1:36:13 PM
Also lived in linden with the refugees. lol
Mike Constantine 1:36:47 PM
Didn't Ali have a training camp in the Poconos?
Lester Wiggs 1:37:17 PM
Anyone remember Cyclone Hart? Only took me 15 minutes to recall the name.
rick hallahan 1:37:39 PM
Ali's training camp was in Deer Lake, PA, just south of Pottsville.
Mike Constantine 1:38:13 PM
Right!...used to go fossil hunting in Deer Lake
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:40:41 PM
Haha, I remember!
Patrick White 1:41:15 PM
A lot his money was controlled and spent by The Nation Of Islam.
Lester Wiggs 1:41:25 PM
Trilobite country.
Mike Constantine 1:41:50 PM

Lester Wiggs 1:41:51 PM
Jesse Hart, nicknamed "Hard Work", is a Philadelphia-born professional boxer carrying on the legacy of his father, the legendary Eugene "Cyclone" Hart ( See, we've come full circle here. HArd Work.
Patrick White 1:43:44 PM
January 15 the USPS is issuing a beautiful Muhammad Ali stamp. Philatelic is one of the few things they get right.
Patrick White 1:47:45 PM
Hey Jerry there is a new Miles Davis movie on the way . It’ covers his years living in France.
Roffle 0x7EA 1:48:38 PM
@Patrick, My girlfriend gave me a stampbook full of Chinese stamps. Pretty weird and cool.
Mike Constantine 1:49:23 PM
Interesting gift
Roffle 0x7EA 1:49:50 PM
Interesting girl. lol
Mike Constantine 1:50:12 PM
She would have to be!
Patrick White 1:50:48 PM
16 minute track. I think Jerry took Junior for a walk🦮🐶
Mike Constantine 1:51:52 PM
Maybe they both had to hit the bathroom
Roffle 0x7EA 1:53:37 PM
Those Perogies ain't gonna make themselves. :)
rick hallahan 1:53:51 PM
This track is as "out there" as I've ever heard Gil Evans and his orchestra. Interesting!
Mike Constantine 1:54:36 PM
Sure is
rick hallahan 1:54:43 PM
Roffle, pierogies are the food of the gods.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:54:52 PM
Righty-ho! I'm here, thinking about perogies.
Mike Constantine 1:56:45 PM
The Ukrainian church will be having their perogy sale in a few months. Mmmm
christopher thacher 1:58:04 PM
Loved the Gil evans track Jerry. It somehow superimposed itself over a video of the lastest unrest I was just watching. Powerful combination.
Patrick White 1:59:58 PM
Wait a minute Jerry! I donated my whole Wayne Newtown collection to you. Where’s my Parade??
rick hallahan 2:00:00 PM
The key to our homemade pierogies that we make in the coal regions of Eastern, PA is that we mix the potatoes with extra-sharp cheese, which we get from a food distributor in Shamokin, PA. he claims he gets the cheese directly from Wisconsin.
Mike Constantine 2:00:56 PM
Sounds soooo good
aiffrig 2:01:57 PM

Roffle 0x7EA 2:04:08 PM
nice
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:04:50 PM
This is a very informed, intellectual and thoughtful crowd... but perogie's rule.
Roffle 0x7EA 2:05:57 PM
Wayne Newton bought a really cool restaurant venue up by San Louis Obispo and ruined it, back when I lived there. People were pissed.
aiffrig 2:07:04 PM
perogies and sour cream
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:07:16 PM

Ears 2:19:05 PM
It's like my bedroom when I was 14 in here now!
Patrick White 2:20:16 PM
Wayne was in town last week at City Winery. The headline read Lousy performer appearing at Lousy venue.
Russell Woessner 2:21:59 PM

Mike Constantine 2:23:29 PM
His face is pulled so tight his ears are on the back of his head
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:25:11 PM

Hi Jerry and Mike. I'm okay, I hope you two are too. I just got in from seeing 2 Ross's Geese a half-hour from home. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Rosss_Goose/overview. They are small, adorable geese

Cool Rob, I look forward to looking at their picture after the show. What kind of environment did you have to go to in order to see them?
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:37:45 PM
No, he's an orthodontist.
Patrick White 2:41:08 PM
Jerry s program one my favorites but I notice he brings a weak ABBA game. Never takes. A chance on them..

Mike Constantine 2:44:53 PM
Clever!
Rob from Maryland 🦀 2:45:16 PM
Something to sink your teeth into: Ross's Geese are quite rare around DC as well in the entire Mid Atlantic area. That said, I went to a lake on the edge of a big townhouse development. They look a lot like Snow Geese but are significantly smaller and have a different bill pattern.
Patrick White 2:45:32 PM
Everyone have a great weekend and Fly Iggles Fly .i might attend the game my 15 year stadium mandated attendance ban just ended.
Rob from Maryland 🦀 2:45:55 PM
@Lester, your neighbor sounds amusing. An ABBA fan who drives a Saab?!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 2:46:04 PM
