Lizbot (host) 5:12:05 PM
@Bike R - Well this drum intro on this Sharda song hopefully booted the Funky Drummer very far away!

Lizbot (host) 5:33:42 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - My sister-in-law's mom is from Chennai, and she was in some old Indian musicals in the 70s! Nothing super famous, but she showed me one once and I was very impressed!
Lizbot (host) 5:33:46 PM
Hi G Jax!
Lizbot (host) 5:34:01 PM
@J Gax - ha!
G Jax 5:34:12 PM
Hellooooo Liz..
Rob from Maryland 🦀 5:34:33 PM
@Lizbot, is that a photograph of your conure?
G Jax 5:34:43 PM
I really like that Holiday Inn song. But yeah, very wet like like
Lizbot (host) 5:35:10 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - Indeed! Crimson-bellied conure, Fripp! King of the Crimsons!
Lizbot (host) 5:35:58 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - (Also King of everything in my home.)
Lizbot (host) 5:37:10 PM
@G Jax - If you liked that, you should definitely check out more Stereo Total if you haven't before! They are one of my favorite bands, but they are no longer active as one half of the duo, Francoise Cactus, sadly passed away several years ago
G Jax 5:40:27 PM
Yes, Liz I was not familiar with them. I hear a lot of cool stuff on your show that I never heard before. That's why I love the station, but it happens more on your show than anybody else's.
Bike R 5:41:26 PM
@g Jax yes!!
G Jax 5:43:12 PM
Yes, anonymous rock 'n' roll is awesome. That's why hewhocannotbenamed is the most perfect rock 'n' roll name ever.
Richard Mitnick 5:43:38 PM
I have been clicked in all day. Happy to have you in my digiteria. I hope you are having a great show.
Richard Mitnick 5:44:29 PM
You have a great "radio voice", lacking on many WPRB hosts.
Lizbot (host) 5:45:27 PM
Hi Richard Mitnick!
Lizbot (host) 5:45:44 PM
@Richard Mitnick - Thank you, I appreciate that!
Lizbot (host) 5:46:47 PM
@G Jax - Glad to hear that! Yeah, I loved Francoise and her partner in music, Brezel Goring, so much. They were so fun live! They never got that famous. I feel like they should have been way better known
Bike R 5:46:48 PM
No doubt!
Number 6 5:51:16 PM
Scrotum Poles, talk about a weird band name!
G Jax 5:51:30 PM
Yes Richard, Liz does have a great voice, but honestly in the current crop of PRB DJs nobody's voice gets on my nerves. That hasn't always been the case though. Ha ha ha.
Lizbot (host) 5:52:12 PM
@NUmber 6 - True! Not a band whose name I say on air! But memorable!
Lizbot (host) 5:53:22 PM
@Number 6 - I saw online many years ago a delightful video of said Scottish band just dancing around an alley in Tayside, Scotland
G Jax 5:53:26 PM
that's a great band name actually
Lizbot (host) 5:54:32 PM
@G Jax - I can't say I'd ever forget that name! Some bands in my roster I've had albums from for decades but sometimes can't recall their name for a moment. Never the case for Scrotum Poles
Number 6 5:56:38 PM
How about, Cajones Poles?
Lizbot (host) 5:57:04 PM
@Number 6 - That could be a cover band of the SP!
Number 6 5:58:31 PM
There's someone called Lil' Scrotum, a rapper I think?
Roffle 0x7EA 5:59:05 PM
Guys got no balls!
Roffle 0x7EA 5:59:12 PM
Hi!
Lizbot (host) 6:00:35 PM
Hey There, Roffle 0x7EA!
G Jax 6:01:07 PM
Actually the gmail account I use for this account is Scrotatorcuff. I had just had rotator cuff surgery when I opened it and had to come up with a name. So I just stuck the the letters SC in front of rotator cuff. Just amusing myself I actually thought that name would show up in the chat, but Gjax does so I kept that there.
G Jax 6:01:39 PM
But if you email that stupid name @Gmail account I'll answer.
Roffle 0x7EA 6:01:44 PM
Hey there person I will recognize at the COOP by pure voice recognition alone. lol
Lizbot (host) 6:03:50 PM
@G Jax - Ha! I still have a dumbly-named email address I came up with as a joke over 25 years ago, that eventually turned into my backup email I use for mailing lists and whatnot, but I curse how long it is every time I have to type it out in an order form or spell it for someone!
Fran Blanche 6:04:38 PM
STARFLEET!!!
Roffle 0x7EA 6:04:43 PM
StupidName@gmail.com....
Lizbot (host) 6:04:51 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA @G Jax - haha! We are so many of us doomed to live with email addresses we came up with on a lark in the nascent days of email !
Lizbot (host) 6:05:08 PM
Hi Fran Blanche! Here's Brian's going his thing!
Brian D 6:05:25 PM

Brian D 6:06:32 PM

Lizbot (host) 6:07:13 PM
Where does an animal sleep when the ground is wet?
Lizbot (host) 6:07:18 PM
Hi Brian D!
Lizbot (host) 6:07:55 PM
@Brian D - All Hail the Van Queen!
Lizbot (host) 6:08:15 PM
Grass in the pasture sharper than a bayonet! Criminal!
Roffle 0x7EA 6:08:19 PM
Iwill catch that act in heaven if they are still doing gigs
G Jax 6:08:39 PM
Yeah early on like real early aol.com times I had tittychimp@yahoo.com. Honestly, the only reason I came up with such stupid names and still do is because I'm not big on like wine guy 564 or some stupid name that you have to come up with numbers after because 8 billion other people came up with the same name.
Brian D 6:09:24 PM
All Hailin' Halen
Lizbot (host) 6:09:27 PM
(This song cracks me up.) Especially the way Berman emphasizes the "ssed!" in "depressed". Goddammit, all his best songs were about sadness!
Lizbot (host) 6:09:42 PM
Haven't played The Vaselines in ages!
Brian D 6:09:59 PM
Mister won't you please help my pony sometimes he gets depressed
Lizbot (host) 6:10:02 PM
@Brian D - I wish I could step outside and hail Halen at any time
G Jax 6:10:37 PM
I like that Vaseline is plural
Roffle 0x7EA 6:10:37 PM
Rescue pony!
Lizbot (host) 6:10:39 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - I will meet you there at the endless concert of bands I never got to see on this mortal coil
TAndy 6:11:43 PM
Oh hey Lizbot
Roffle 0x7EA 6:11:43 PM
That's a date. I hope ticketmaster has a better platfom there.
Lizbot (host) 6:12:03 PM
@G Jax - Yeah, I have never had to tack numbers on to the ends of my email addresses, thankfully! I'm jealous of people with such unusual actual legal names that they can just use that and not have a number on that, but my name is NOT that!
Lizbot (host) 6:12:12 PM
Hey There, TAndy!
Lizbot (host) 6:12:30 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - You know Ticketmaster won't be there!
Roffle 0x7EA 6:12:54 PM
lololololol!
Bike R 6:16:11 PM
Lizbot, the bands we don't see will haunt us always!
G Jax 6:16:18 PM
Until I actually saw your name in print, I always thought your name was Liz Bott. I still think of you as two names actually so you're not part of my ongoing rant against DJ is using handles instead of some form of an actual name.
Bike R 6:17:15 PM
Oh G Jax.
Lizbot (host) 6:17:41 PM
@Bike R - That's right! I, personally, welcome the ghost of Freddie Mercury, but I would've done just about anything to see Queen!
Bike R 6:18:45 PM
agreed! I would have loved to see Queen so much
Roffle 0x7EA 6:20:10 PM
I only know Lizbot as Lizbt. LOL I know I'm kinda slow, but I am in this texted pixel world here and seems to work and keep less confused.
Roffle 0x7EA 6:21:31 PM
I know George's name though...lolo
Bike R 6:25:43 PM
Amazing set, Lizbot!
Lizbot (host) 6:26:34 PM
@Bike R - I think about that a lot! Just watching video of their performances, the energy comes through. What I'd give to be down in front at one of those shows!
Lizbot (host) 6:26:40 PM
@Bike R - Thank you!
Lizbot (host) 6:27:17 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA / @G Jax - I mean I've gone by Lizbot for going on 30 years, so it's official!
Roffle 0x7EA 6:27:50 PM
There it is!
Roffle 0x7EA 6:28:13 PM
If it fits, make a statement.
Bike R 6:28:15 PM
oh, a queen show would have been simply org**smic
Lizbot (host) 6:28:23 PM
@G Jax - The origin of the Lizbot name is long and convoluted and involves and old friend group all coming up with nicknames. Mine stuck
Lizbot (host) 6:30:11 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA / @G Jax - It doesn't hurt that I also have a toy robot collection, mostly those old TOMY robots from the 70s & 80s.
Roffle 0x7EA 6:31:30 PM
Wow, those are only to be found at the most exclusive thrift stores!
Roffle 0x7EA 6:32:00 PM
Or a lucky garage sale
Lizbot (host) 6:32:13 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Most of mine are in working order...though I haven't tested them in a while!
Lizbot (host) 6:32:34 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA /@G Jax - Not the main reason for the nickname, though
Roffle 0x7EA 6:32:37 PM
Any "new in box"?
Lizbot (host) 6:33:14 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Nah, cuz I like to use them!
G Jax 6:33:15 PM
well, it's a good name, Liz. It's not a bad one to have stuck. Like I know a 50 year-old guy who still is known as Dingleberry. It all started with my band I had in high school and we used to practice in my basement and this kid from across the street who was a couple years younger was always hanging around and one of the guys the band says what's the deal with that kid always hang around he's like a dingleberry. It's stuck. He is still dingleberry 40 years later.
Lizbot (host) 6:34:02 PM
@G Jax - oh dear god. That IS tragic!
Roffle 0x7EA 6:34:04 PM
@Lizbot, I can only guess at the origins, and I love to speculate. Set me free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
Bike R 6:35:06 PM
lol
Lizbot (host) 6:35:23 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - ha! Then a friend screenprinted a very nice shirt with my likeness and "Lizbot" on it a few decades ago, and that furthered the lore. Plus my Lizbot with pipes for hair comic logo
Roffle 0x7EA 6:36:46 PM
Curious, but spot on in my brain. :)
Roffle 0x7EA 6:39:31 PM
G Jax,I mean, of all the weirdo nicknames that kids can come up with. Poor fucking dingleberry.
Roffle 0x7EA 6:41:56 PM
Still have that shirt Lizbot?
Roffle 0x7EA 6:42:20 PM
I want one!
Roffle 0x7EA 6:42:43 PM
Not that one though...
Lizbot (host) 6:42:47 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - I wish! I still have the original ink drawing of the Lizbot logo comic. I don't have that shirt anymore and I really wish I did, but I got lost in one of many moves in the past three decades
G Jax 6:43:19 PM
Ahh Dingleberry He's a sweetheart of guy too like 18 feet tall. Totally rolls with it.
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:43:26 PM
some Strange songs you are playing tonight, Lizbot ;-) They are everywhere, like lawn chairs
Roffle 0x7EA 6:43:38 PM
God I know that lost in moving bummer.
Lizbot (host) 6:43:42 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - One WPRB Membership Drive years ago the station made Lizbot comic bumper stickers as a premium item
Lizbot (host) 6:43:58 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - haha, I try!
Lizbot (host) 6:44:28 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - How about THIS band name? It's got a semi-colon!
Roffle 0x7EA 6:44:29 PM
Any left?
Bike R 6:44:29 PM
80s gems!
Lizbot (host) 6:45:36 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - I might have ONE, but I gotta save that for me!
Roffle 0x7EA 6:47:13 PM
I simply must inventory the stacks someday then on an archeological grant. I wonder what was "left behind".

Lizbot (host) 6:55:58 PM

@Roffle 0x7EA - Yeah, there are some old WPRB shirt designs I love that i haven't seen in ages, but I DO have my WPRB Penguin radio displayed on my bookshelf, and my WPRB flask. Those are some old ones!
Lizbot (host) 6:57:23 PM
Hi Ross Dickinson!
Lizbot (host) 6:57:38 PM
@Ross Dickinson - They're pretty obscure. The semi-colon being in their name killed them!
Ross Dickinson 6:58:28 PM
Yet !!! survived! lol
Kelly Nielsen 6:58:49 PM
Fun hearing the Yeah Yeah Yeahs :)
Lizbot (host) 6:59:22 PM
The Faint show in support of this album I'm playing is where i met my husband! At the Trocadero in Philly in 2003!
Jen Redlights 6:59:47 PM
this disco synth bonanza is making my afternoon, Lizbot! and I love that you met your husband at a show.
Lizbot (host) 7:00:42 PM
Hi Kelly Nielsen! I love the werewolfy video for that song! My husband had a weird exchange with Karen O at the First Unitarian Church basement in Philly many years ago. He was praising the opening band and she took issue with that, haha!
Lizbot (host) 7:01:16 PM
Hi Jen Redlights!
Roffle 0x7EA 7:01:20 PM
Death by punctuation. I would not mind an asteric on my tombstone.
Bike R 7:01:41 PM
2003! good show! And just seeing Jen join the chat, my brain is exploding
Roffle 0x7EA 7:01:45 PM
Jen!
Lizbot (host) 7:02:04 PM
@Jen Redlights - I'm glad to hear that! Happy to help!
Lizbot (host) 7:02:32 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - It really did hurt them!
Roffle 0x7EA 7:04:14 PM
YES!
Lizbot (host) 7:04:28 PM
@Ross Dickinson - If you want to know more about Zeehas 12; Wait, and old friend, Dylan Sparrow, was in that band for a while. He has a current band called Giggle the Ozone.
Lizbot (host) 7:05:09 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - I almost played that one! Would be fun to pair Belew's Fishhead with Barnes & Barnes' rolypoly "Fishhead"!
Roffle 0x7EA 7:05:43 PM
I tried to hide my stupidity, but hell yeah!
jimbooooo 7:07:26 PM
I knew one of the Faint when he was a teenage skatepunk in Nebraska
Ossy 7:07:32 PM
great smells tonight Liz!
Lizbot (host) 7:07:49 PM
@Ross Dickinson - You might want to contact Dylan on his site, or see if he's on bandcamp. But quite literally, when that album came out in the early 2000s I was at WPRB and it charted here, and when we submitted our charting tracks to CMJ, as we did back in the day, that one didn't get recorded in their charts because that semi-colon messed with the system! But then again, !!! managed to get fairly big, so...
Lizbot (host) 7:07:58 PM
Hello Ossy! THank you!
Ross Dickinson 7:08:51 PM
Thanks Liz!
Ossy 7:11:09 PM
With Tara new years https://www.instagram.com/reel/DS8ML3xkid6/?igsh=MTV2M3kxMTZyMHR0YQ==
Roffle 0x7EA 7:12:15 PM
I have a next week request from Belew, Standing in the Shadow.
Roffle 0x7EA 7:12:55 PM
I think the vibe would carry here.
jrlp 7:13:00 PM
BOB's PICK!!!
Roffle 0x7EA 7:13:29 PM
BOB knows
Roffle 0x7EA 7:16:59 PM
You're on my list jrlp. I am interested in your work. That Christmas stuff was really so good. Seriously.
Lizbot (host) 7:17:55 PM
@Ossy - Happy New Year right back Tara and also to you!
Lizbot (host) 7:18:10 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - oooh, gonna take note of that!
Roffle 0x7EA 7:18:33 PM
Please do dear.
Lizbot (host) 7:19:06 PM
Hi jrlp! Bob Mothersbaugh's pick is currently in my wallet! "Bob 1"!
Roffle 0x7EA 7:20:25 PM
I lost every apple BOB to the bug tooth girl in grade school.
Ossy 7:20:28 PM
Liz - Love Tara's quirky, pointy nose, chipper teeth energy!
jrlp 7:20:37 PM
WAT
Lizbot (host) 7:21:21 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - I love a Halloween party, but my main memories from grade school apple-bobbing involve getting water up my nose!
jimbooooo 7:21:27 PM
Oh I thought I heard you saved Bob's SPIT
Roffle 0x7EA 7:22:56 PM
I lost the apple BOB, but won the watermelon eating contest. Life in grade school...
Ross Dickinson 7:23:24 PM
This Broadcast song is great
Lizbot (host) 7:24:13 PM
@jimbooooo - oh my! no! I would be afraid for both him and me if that were the case!
Ossy 7:24:29 PM
They sure got nice Broadcast songs
Lizbot (host) 7:26:25 PM
@Ross Dickinson - I love Broadcast. I was heartbroken when Trish Keenan died so young and so suddenly. That Work and Nonwork release came out in '97 when I was driving back and forth a lot between college and my parents' house on weekends and breaks, and I played that CD in the car so much at that time, it immediately evokes those drives for me
jimbooooo 7:27:12 PM
I kept Umberto Eco's water glass around for a while at Borders after he read there, so I sorta had his spit
Lizbot (host) 7:28:15 PM
@Ross Dickinson / @Ossy - Trish Keenan of Broadcast made mix-tapes for her friends, which later got released after her death. Some very cool obscure 60s witchy psych stuff in there
sorry it's andrew 7:28:35 PM
i got in the car with The Book Lovers in my head because I played it several times today, and then you put it on. thanks for pushing the earworm even deeper, lizbot!
Ross Dickinson 7:28:57 PM
That's so sad! But those mix tapes sound awesome. I probably would have loved hearing that back then when I was just learning about The Dukes of Stratosphear and XTC
Lizbot (host) 7:29:37 PM
@jimbooooo - haha, well I guess you could've cloned Umberto Eco...Call up those Dolly the Sheep geneticists!
Lizbot (host) 7:30:04 PM
@jimbooooo - Coincidence - look at the name of the album I'm about to play....now
Lizbot (host) 7:30:27 PM
Hi sorry it's andrew!
Lizbot (host) 7:30:57 PM
@sorry it's andrew - haha, no problem! Happy to help embed the Keenan further!
Lizbot (host) 7:31:52 PM
@Ross Dickinson - Oh man, I spent ALL my money on vinyl and CDs back then. Plastic Fantastic in Ardmore and Space Boy in Philly both got all my disposable income. Both are long gone!
Roffle 0x7EA 7:32:32 PM
@Ross, I was lucky my good friend sent me that album when I lived in Seattle. 25 O'Clock, She a little lighthouse! Fan-fucking-tastic!
jimbooooo 7:32:36 PM
Déjà Eco
Lizbot (host) 7:33:02 PM
@Ross Dickinson - The Plastic Fantastic owners loved XTC and put on Apple Venus Volume 1 over the store speakers the day of its release and I immediately bought it upon hearing "I'd LIke That". Meanwhile, their goofy standard poodle followed me all over the store!
Lizbot (host) 7:33:11 PM
@jimbooooo - Good album name!
Ross Dickinson 7:35:35 PM
@Lizbot haha that's awesome! I was waiting for my order from CDNow while I was at school. Probably the only 15 year old listening to XTC at the time lol
Rob from Maryland 🦀 7:37:44 PM
@Lizbot (6:44), semi-colons should be banned from band names
Lizbot (host) 7:38:09 PM
@Ross Dickinson - haha, being the weird kid with "weird" music taste in high school eventually pays off! CDNow!
Roffle 0x7EA 7:39:02 PM
Fact!
Ross Dickinson 7:39:05 PM
For sure! Maybe the downside of not being able to talk music with most people, but whatever lol
Lizbot (host) 7:40:03 PM
@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - True. But since then there's been "Beak>", "!!!" and countless other odd punctuation band names! I think Zeehas; 12 Wait was a victim of both punctuation and the technological limitations of its time.
Roffle 0x7EA 7:40:52 PM
Get me started about Electro-Optics Ross!
John Coffey 7:41:43 PM
Tonight was a first for me, listening to the first 2 hours of @lizbot in my car. Saving all y'all my early days of shopping Plastic Fantastic in both the Bryn Mawr stores on the chat.
Ross Dickinson 7:41:45 PM
Tell me about Electro-Optics!
Lizbot (host) 7:42:00 PM
Hi John Coffey!
Lizbot (host) 7:42:22 PM
@John Coffey - Remember that dog??!
Ross Dickinson 7:42:39 PM
I remember filing a bug to Spotify support years ago that you couldn't search for !!!. Glad they fixed it eventually
Roffle 0x7EA 7:42:45 PM
My old bartender said that I had an ability to talk to everyone, but the dummies.
Ross McLochness 7:43:14 PM
Hey, I can relate. I was one of the only high school kids listening to XTC too. Except In the 70s. Record World FTW. Check out ExTC if you haven't. Excellent selections tonight, btw.
Roffle 0x7EA 7:44:04 PM
@Ross, oh yes, Ask me and I will do my best.
Lizbot (host) 7:44:13 PM
@John Coffey - We mightve been in Plastic Fantastic at the same time. I lived in Ardmore at the time, in the Haverford College Apartments during summer break. No A/C. Very little money. Bought my meals at that Dollar Store so I could buy more records!
Lizbot (host) 7:44:24 PM
Hi Ross McLochness!
Rob from Maryland 🦀 7:44:47 PM
Hi John Coffey (and everyone!)
Lizbot (host) 7:45:12 PM
@Ross McLochness - I love Andy Partridge! XTC is one of those all-time favorites for me
John Coffey 7:45:13 PM
@Liz, vaguely remember the dog. Do remember the female co owner refusing to buy my cutout albums for some ethical reason. she eventually sold her stake in PF to manage the Hooters. As the best I remember it.
Ross Dickinson 7:45:25 PM
@Ross I was actually trying to see ExTC when they were playing in Jersey awhile back but couldn't make it! I figured that was the closest I'd get to ever seeing them live
Ross McLochness 7:46:35 PM
Not to sound highbrow but I thought Colin Moulding's songs were so much better than AP's. Check it out for yourself if you doubt me.
John Coffey 7:47:11 PM
Oh we definitely crossed paths at Admore PF. I was making good money late 80's and buying up a lot of Lp's and singles I couldn't afford in late 70's.
Lizbot (host) 7:47:44 PM
@John Coffey - haha, my brother-in-law attended a camp program with Eric Bazilian's son! Weird, I didn't know whatsherface from Plastic Fantastic left to manage The Hooters. Crazy. Did you see their Lene Lovich in-store show?! I would've loved to have seen that! Iggy pop played in there too
Ross McLochness 7:48:06 PM
There are a lot of traders passing around ExTC shows. The band sounds fabulous. Hard to tell the difference, however, as old men, (like me), there are a few clams from time to time.
Richard of Rocky Hill 7:48:35 PM
"Cheap Songs Tell the Truth" ... how too true! For me, one of the worst components of getting your heart broken is, the lyrics of all manner of poorly written, throw-off pop music ditties suddenly seem powerfully profound ... :-((
John Coffey 7:49:25 PM
Sadly missed all the great in store PF appearances. But heard about them afterwards from WKDU DJ's.
Lizbot (host) 7:49:28 PM
Hi Richard of Rocky Hill!
Ross McLochness 7:49:34 PM
Well said, Richard.
Lizbot (host) 7:50:10 PM
@Richard of Rocky Hill - yeah, that's rough! I recorded The Music Lovers at WPRB around the time of that release for a live in-studio set a million years ago!
Lizbot (host) 7:50:43 PM
@John Coffey - yeah, they had some photos on their walls from those in-stores! I remember being jealous of the Lene one!
Rob from Maryland 🦀 7:51:07 PM
Great show tonight, Lizbot, thanks!
Lizbot (host) 7:52:09 PM
@Ross McLochness - Hrmmm, I gotta take you up on that! I will do a side by side! I do think "Easter Theatre" is a perfect song, though!
Lizbot (host) 7:52:19 PM
Thanks, Rob from Maryland 🦀!
Ross Dickinson 7:52:52 PM
River of Orchids had me messing with pizzicato preset on my Korg for quite awhile after that lol
Roffle 0x7EA 7:53:40 PM
I have friends that have a Beatles cover band with all the original (very expensive) instruments and board sounds. They are of course brilliant in their quest, and perfected it for many, many years.
Ross McLochness 7:53:50 PM
Andy wrote so many perfect pop songs, you certainly can't argue with that. Colin's songs are deep, dark, and delicious.
John Coffey 7:53:58 PM
@Ross Colin may have had the big XTC with hits, like Generals and Majors. but Andy was the heart and soul.
Lizbot (host) 7:54:40 PM
@Ross Dickinson - haha, as a keyboard/synth player and enthusiast, I can relate to those coveted presets heard on beloved songs!
Number 6 7:55:18 PM
Thanks for another fine show, BCNU!
Lizbot (host) 7:55:30 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - That's gotta be expensive equipment to maintain! I know a band who play a real mellotron and it is a NIGHTMARE to maintain. The tapes constantly break and no one makes the parts anymore
Lizbot (host) 7:55:36 PM
Thanks, Number 6!
Ross McLochness 7:55:47 PM
@John Coffey I think it's the other way around. Especially post Big Express. Andy took over and became the tunemaster. Prior to that it was equal footing and I think Colin was more profound.
Lizbot (host) 7:55:54 PM
@Ross McLochness - I love Andy AND Colin!
Richard of Rocky Hill 7:55:57 PM
@ Lizbot (host) Thanks for another superb show ... no cheap songs, only doubleplusgood!
Roffle 0x7EA 7:55:57 PM
No fucking way it's over. This time shit gets me every time
Ossy 7:56:00 PM
Classic ice cream nostalgia truck throwback, great ice cream x fruity recherche smells tonight, liz!
Bike R 7:56:00 PM
Great show Lizbot! TY
Ross McLochness 7:57:42 PM
You may have to update the marquee to Triple Plus Good after tonight :)
Roffle 0x7EA 7:57:58 PM
@Lizbot, My friend in that band has 2 mellotrons and the flute and other stuff too for parts. lol
jrlp 7:58:16 PM
TY Lizbot++!
Roffle 0x7EA 7:58:37 PM
Thx for tonight Lizbot. Always.
Kelly Nielsen 7:58:50 PM
Thank you Lizbot!
Lizbot (host) 7:59:52 PM
Thnks for listening, Kelly Nielsen!
Lizbot (host) 8:00:06 PM
Thanks for tuning in, Roffle 0x7EA!
Roffle 0x7EA 8:00:11 PM
Flute tapes! I ment to say fulte tape racks... lol;
Lizbot (host) 8:00:13 PM
Thanks jrlp!
Lizbot (host) 8:00:32 PM
@Roffle 0x7EA - Yikes (but also jealous) of TWO mellotrons!
Lizbot (host) 8:00:39 PM
Thank you, Bike R!
Lizbot (host) 8:00:45 PM
Thanks, OSsy!
Lizbot (host) 8:01:14 PM
@Ross McLochness - haha, yeah, I am figuring out what i'm gonna play all those hours next week and the week after!
Roffle 0x7EA 8:01:22 PM
IKR? He has had them since the fucking 80's! Thanks much Liz!
Lizbot (host) 8:02:38 PM
NEXT THURSDAY, 1/15: Doubleplusgood will be Quadrupleplusgood 3-8 PM! Subbing then going into the regularly-scheduled show. THURSDAY, 1/22: ANOTHER Quadrupleplusgood!, this time 5-11 PM! Stay tuned!
Lizbot (host) 8:03:39 PM
'Night, All! Thanks for hanging! See you here next Thursday!
Roffle 0x7EA 8:04:14 PM
Play my request! Or I won't tune in. Chicken or egg? We shall see.
Roffle 0x7EA 8:04:30 PM
Thanks for stuff!
