@Rob from Merryland 🦀 🎄- Yeah, I had the flu for the first half of December, so I wouldn't have smelled most perfumes in my diminished olfactory ill state unless they were sprayed directly up my nose! My sense of smell and robustness of sinuses have been restored!

Yeah, I agree that stuff was made for moderate use, as opposed to how most people think is a post shower rinse.

@Kerrofflesburgsteinski - I do enjoy revisiting all the good albums I forgot about from the earlier part of the year!

@Carlos Ramone - I can't even justify cooking without making enough for leftovers for the next day or two! Too much work and clean-up!

@Kerrofflesburgsteinski - The worst is when people's perfume/cologne and their scented detergent on their clothes and all the other needlessly-scented items clash! Instant headache.

@Kerrofflesburgsteinski - Scratch that. The absolute worst is walking down a detergent/cleaning supply aisle in a big box store like Costco! Industrial perfume hell!

As a staunch anti-Spotify person who's never used that service, I don't received a "Spotify Unwrapped" and I don't use a lot of apps or subscriptions that do a similar thing, but I frankly finds those a bit creepy anyway! Like, stop tracking (and surely selling) so many stats on me, internet! That said, I DO use Duolingo and I'm sure that's about to tell me how many hours of language learning I did this year any minute now

@carlos i thought i responded before carlos! it was just a red tomato paste top, it was a hello fresh meal,they come out really good i think. i have to cook every meal of every day, and really need to probably to a better job of prepping on weeks we don't do stuff like hello fresh. But it's a nice little change up, i've never really cooked in my life so last 9-12 months been interesting!

She was already teaching in her own classroom in the early 60s and she taught in London where the primary school teachers had to teach all the subjects, including French, which she only had just studied a year prior for that position! I'll have to ask her if she ever played that song for her pupils.

@michael gudgeon - I often wonder about those mail-order meal services. They seem like they might get more veggies in my meals, but I'm afraid I'd fall behind on cooking them on busy days and they'd start to pile up!

I was taken to the boiler room and told to pick up a crumpled piece of paper and got a whack with a broom handle for throwing about thirty paper airplanes at one time in math class. Totally worth it!

My 5th grade teacher loved to talk about her life. Great story teller. I actually learned quite a bit that year.

@Kerrofflesburgsteinski - Some teachers had there personal anecdotes that were fun and entertaining, and some were just a bit of a mess! And I have a lot of empathy and love for teachers, having been raised by two! One of the high school history teachers, Mr. Farrell, was a great storyteller, so funny, played us Irish music and got on Jeopardy during the year I had him! He didnt talk about us during his anecdote at the start of the show, though, just about some dumb watch his wife gave him!

I saw UK at the Tower. Very cool show.

Reminds me of my friend from high school who became a physics professor, but during her graduate school days, she had a budget for all these materials for student-led projects, but she used some of it to build a mini hovercraft!

@Ossy / @Kerrofflesburgsteinski - I think the other major factor with perfumes and colognes is theyre SO strongly associated with memory, so if a scent reminds me of someone I liked, like my grandmom who died decades ago and always wore "Chloe", then it can make me nostalgic or happy, but it's VERY case by case and can go the other way for people I didn't like who always wore a certain scent!

Sparks really runs the gamut of musical styles. Always good

@Alana Phelan - Sparks had kind of a slump sales/interest/reviews-wise in the late 90s, and then Lil' Beethoven came along, with all its chopped up collaged building repetition, and it put them on a lot of people's year-end favorites list! And they got that Central Park Summer Stage gig not long after

ossy, i had a giant pumpkin spice candle from there that lasted a few years of holidays. i finally melted the was down and added it to undercoating on a hot plate to shoot on my pickup truck frame. it prevented rust and smelled good to boot.

@Mary Jones - For real! One of my all-time favorites and the first Christmas album I break out every year! Such great collaborations on it and I still get chills from the tolling of the bells at the start and end of the album! My dad bought it of course when it came out in 1991 and we played it a LOT in my house in my teen years

@Dale Hazelton - I USED to burn a lot of scented candles, though I was picky because so many smell like awful chemicals and/or way too strong, but then I got pet birds. Scented candles and birds do NOT mix!

lizbot, i had parakeets from the mccrorey's in brooklyn when i lived ther in the mid 80s. an open window at night would kill them. i feel bad i was an ignorant parent. they loved to sit on my finger and fly around the apartment.
