Hello
Pengy 6:11:05 PM
Tuned in at just the right song to ward off the sunday scaries.
Tim (host) 6:13:43 PM
he pengy -- ill do my best to ward them off
Pengy 6:17:53 PM
You're already doing great; I appreciate the energy.
Kerrofflesburgsteinski 6:27:43 PM
Wow, busy weekend Tim. :)
Tim (host) 6:29:56 PM
yep -- gotta keep the music going....
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:33:23 PM
Hi Tim, roffle, Pengy!
Tim (host) 6:35:03 PM
Hey rob
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:36:10 PM
Omg this Richard Thompson song 😢
Kerrofflesburgsteinski 6:40:28 PM
How was the birding Rob?
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:42:10 PM
It was ducky. We saw several species of ducks (Ring-necked & Ruddy Duck, Mallard, Bufflehead) and a bunch of gulls and geese. It was a lovely walk along the lake
Kerrofflesburgsteinski 6:44:20 PM
Good stuff. So cool it it requires a coat in factt. At least it would for me.
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:47:12 PM
Yup, we sure needed coats. Until we got out of the tree-infested path from the parking lot to the lake and into the full sun, I was wishing I had worn thermals. 🦆 🪿
Richard of Rocky Hill 6:55:55 PM
@ Tim (host) Fab classic folkie selections ... and yes, I'm old enough to remember them all
Tim (host) 6:57:39 PM
Hey Richard- yep we definatley were singging the old folk classics like michael row the boat ashore in pre school etc .--- we coould use another folk boom - but i dont see it happening
Richard of Rocky Hill 7:13:16 PM
It will sneak up on us on furtive folkie feet.
Richard of Rocky Hill 7:17:53 PM
Can you believe, all these tracks you've been playing are only voices and a few acoustic instruments, boosted by some natural large-hall-created reverb ... and they were freakin' multi-million record selling smash hits???!!!
Tim (host) 7:20:02 PM
yep crazy to think of...- hits with banjos inem - i dont think that would happen today
Pengy 7:20:53 PM
Folk really is one of, if not the most empathetic and heart spoken of the musics
Pengy 7:21:54 PM
The people yearn for this soul connection.
Tim (host) 7:22:09 PM
@pengy -- it really is -- it kinda better then rock not contaimenated - more of the people
Tim (host) 7:23:17 PM
i think people yearn for taylor swift really ---
Tim (host) 7:23:48 PM
who knows maybe shell do a remix dance version of Michael row the boat ashore
Tim (host) 7:24:00 PM
!!!
Richard of Rocky Hill 7:29:12 PM
Wow! Joan Baez and Donovan performing his song "Colours" live at the Newport Folk Festival! I honestly never knew that track existed.
Tim (host) 7:30:32 PM
yup - there is film of it on youtube- also the newport folk festival movie
Pengy 7:32:06 PM
You can hear the sheer love of humanity in her voice.
Tim (host) 7:32:38 PM
yep Joan is some serious stuff
Rob from Maryland 🦀 7:54:00 PM
Tim, we've both enjoyed your show tonight, ty. And, the original (?) Song To The Siren!!
Rob from Maryland 🦀 7:54:51 PM
I'm not sure I've heard the original, I certainly know the This Mortal Coil cover
Tim (host) 7:55:40 PM
yep tim buckley is the original
Tyler B. 7:55:45 PM
I recognize the john frusciante version of this
Pengy 7:56:12 PM
Oh I love Nick Drake...
Tim (host) 7:56:36 PM
yeah he is sooooo good
Pengy 7:56:40 PM
Thank you Tim for the great folk set. Fantastic music.
Tim (host) 7:56:50 PM
thanks for listening!
Tyler B. 7:58:31 PM
I definitely find myself yearning for a stomp/clap song about teenage breakups. That's why I love Taylor swift so much. Never get tired of the same unoriginal jargon endlessly
Tim (host) 8:01:01 PM
teah as my niece says " taylor swift is so nice" and she probably is ..but oof
Kerrofflesburgsteinski 8:03:47 PM
THx Tim
