loving this new tony molina. and was just thinking about sex clark 5 past couple days b/c of their song "girls of somalia" which is... well... have a good trip to 'bama.

Kristin: my brother went to Hightstown High in the mid 80's. He had a band called "Basic Terms" and a song called "Communist Takeover in Hightstown" that was played on the air, only once, on WPRB. He said he met some female DJ randomly and gave her the tape and they played it. Shot in the dark...was that you?

Marcus: no don't think it was me! maybe nicola or sally...and Jon Solomon of course might know. good title though for his song!

I spoke to Jon, he said he'd play it. Only over Thanksgiving did I learn that it already had been played. But I'll see if John can track down the DJ.

marcus: jon might solve the mystery after all. and there weren't that many female dj's, that i can recall...!

I know Jon right now is dedicated to solving the missing hardcore demo that was written up on NJ.com

Maitland told me about putting callers on the air which I also started to do. Crazy stuff back then. I haven't heard a caller on PRB in years

Oooh happy birthday, Dana! I learned about them in a recent Bandcamp article (https://daily.bandcamp.com/features/indie-pop-scene-report) where they were listed as part of a "tight five" of groups. Since I already had 3 albums (Horsegirl, The Cords, Autocamper) and liked them, I bought the other 2 ... Sharp Pins and Good Flying Birds.

This was a great year for indie pop!
