Esoterica, it is fun. Around here Brant are normally found in winter on the coast & the lower bays, where I hadn't been for ... a decade. So I got to go somewhere I'd never been to *and* see a bird

I kinda do that informally already Rob just take the dog out and look and listen. Also this past summer we went out on the salt marsh skimmer (I think that is what it's called) in Cape May just to see seabirds. Unfortunately in was a rainy windy day and not as much to observe as usual

I went birding with Park Rangers at Paterson Park on Black Friday..cold and windy

I think I saw talk of a WFMU listener/dj birding meet-up a few years ago when I listened to that station more. I thought about going, but things ended up going on that day/weekend plus it would have been >3 hours away

I would think that OC Welcome Center would be pretty well known to birders - or nature photographers in general. Pretty amazing. Pretty serious photographers always set up there

Nothing out of the ordinary..coopers hawks and many red tails..They are replacing bridge across the falls. Closed for a few more weeks

@Carlos, I agree. Several good birding locales around DC were closed during the multi-year I mean -week shutdown recently
