Music
With Lizbot
A tangy mélange of modern classical composition, rock in opposition, and songs of petition on a free-form mission

We’ll celebrate the inventive and revolutionary musical and political movement of Tropicália that was born out of a cultural resistance to the authoritarian government in Brazil in the 60s and 70s.

| Gilberto Gil Bat Macumba Tropicália Ou Panis Et Circensis V/A Philips 1968 Macumba is an African-derived religion, popular in Brazil.
"Bat" is actually referring to Batman!
An element of Tropicalia involves mixing Brazilian culture with American and European culture (e.g. the batman) with a heaping dose of irony.

"Baby" explores themes of materialism and societal expectations in Brazil, using playful and repetitive lyrics to convey a sense of longing and connection. It reflects both a satire of American consumerism and an embrace of modernity during a transformative period in Brazilian culture

| Tom Zé Defect 2: Curiosidade Antônio José Santana Martins Com Defeito de Fabricação / Fabrication Defect LUAKA BOP RECORDS 1997 Tom Zé (Antônio José Santana Martins) is one of the lesser known members of the Tropicalismo movement, but a key one. After the peak of the Tropicália period, Zé went into relative obscurity. Remaining true to the experimental and Dada impulses of Tropicália, Zé has been noted for both his unorthodox approach to melody and instrumentation, employing various objects as instruments such as the typewriter, and he has collaborated with many concrete poets, like Augusto de Campos, and employed concrete techniques in his lyrics.
