good afternoon, evening here!:)

Late afternoon but looks like evening here
John Coffey 5:13:55 PM
This The Bride song has an eerie similarity to Spellbound from Siouxsie and the Banshees. Help me out here with any connections!
Esoterica (host) 5:14:30 PM
hey John! agree, the vocals, too/
Lester Wiggs 5:15:11 PM
I think I'm in. I wrote down my information on a piece of wood. Combustible.
Esoterica (host) 5:17:42 PM
Sweet, Lester!
Lester Wiggs 5:21:32 PM
Schifrin also wrote the Mannix theme. Its trite to bring it up, but in my universe of TV themes and other composers, I would include the great Bernard Herrmann.
Esoterica (host) 5:23:41 PM
oh for sure, Lester. Love Herrmann - Psycho is amazing though a film score
Rob from Maryland 🦀 5:25:52 PM
Howdy Esoterica and everyone!
Esoterica (host) 5:26:30 PM
Howdy, Rob!
Lester Wiggs 5:26:55 PM
I should re-watch that fine film about the firemen. Fahrenheit 451. Another fine Herrmann score.
John Coffey 5:27:22 PM
Still love No Tears all these years! Old time memories of getting spastic and stupid dancing to this.
Esoterica (host) 5:27:32 PM
oh yeah John:)
Esoterica (host) 5:27:40 PM
for sure, Lester
Lester Wiggs 5:27:43 PM
Ralph Records fans in the house?
John Coffey 5:28:46 PM
@Lester Ralph fan here! The Residents and early Yello.
David Shortell 5:30:27 PM
I trust you don't mean the 2018 HBO film "Fahrenheit 451". I'm tempted to watch that just to give myself something to kvetch about.
David Shortell 5:31:39 PM
Schifrin's best known TV theme has to be "Mission: Impossible".
John Coffey 5:32:34 PM
@David Ouch! I didn't know Fahrenheit 451 was redone. The original had a big terror effect on me as a kid.
Lester Wiggs 5:33:04 PM
@David- no the original British production. Classic Brit film making. Its from likely Pinewood studio's On the next sound-stage over they were making the Prisoner.
Esoterica (host) 5:34:23 PM
I do not think I have watched Fahrenheit 451, I need to!
David Shortell 5:34:32 PM
The TV show "The Prisoner"? That was filmed on the Welsh peninsula Portmeiron.
Lester Wiggs 5:34:32 PM
I was frightened by Rover. Terrified actually.
Lester Wiggs 5:36:05 PM

Esoterica (host) 5:41:14 PM

David Shortell 5:42:29 PM
Yes, Portmeirion is a resort town that Patrick McGoohan had visited while filming an episode of his previous TV series "Danger Man" (called "Secret Agent" in the USA).
sorry it's aNDREW 5:43:40 PM
i switched it to fIREHOSE case
Lester Wiggs 5:45:02 PM
@John. But they had committed the books to memory. As I have. So in the final denouement, we find ourselves in dark wood. Nel mezzo del cammin de nostra vita, mi ritrovai per una selva oscura ché la diritta via era smaritta.
Esoterica (host) 5:45:03 PM
oh yeah tat I can dig! @aNDREW
David Shortell 5:46:36 PM

G Jax 5:48:33 PM
I had never heard that Crimson and Clover cover before. But I was sitting here driving and I was thinking wow that sounds exactly like 1990. Like there was no doubt in my mind then I look and it's 1990.
Esoterica (host) 5:50:07 PM
howdy, G Jax, me neither - just discovered it myself. and hi...
David Shortell 5:50:11 PM
I didn't know who the Monochrome Set were when I saw them at Asbury Park's Saint in 2013.
Esoterica (host) 5:50:35 PM
and haha, G Jax! Good instinct there
G Jax 5:50:48 PM
Yeah, to me, it sounds like the last vestiges of the hair metal bands. Like that's the way covers sounded at that point in time.
G Jax 5:51:50 PM
Like I bet every one of those dudes had their hair all grown out, silk shirts, tight pants, and cowboy boots. Actually come to think of it. That's exactly how I look then.
Esoterica (host) 5:51:52 PM
right, I can see that
Esoterica (host) 5:52:06 PM
haha nice visual
G Jax 5:53:26 PM
Damn, I miss hair.ha ha ha
Esoterica (host) 5:54:08 PM
hahaha this goes along with the title of the current song, too. do you like long hair?
Lester Wiggs 5:56:49 PM
I almost cut my hair. Deer tick.
G Jax 5:57:09 PM
Wow, had no idea that was the title. Good timing.
Esoterica (host) 5:58:29 PM
yup lol
G Jax 6:00:30 PM
Last Halloween, I was Ian Astbury. And I have to say I nailed it. Actually want an Actually won a prize in the contest and I didn't even enter. Anyway, some girl at the Halloween party I was at said is that real hair? I said no unfortunately 20 years ago it would've.
Esoterica (host) 6:01:40 PM
ha! love Ian Asbury - did you belt out some tunes?
G Jax 6:02:41 PM
Nah I'm a terrible singer.
G Jax 6:03:08 PM
But gimme a guitar!!!
Esoterica (host) 6:04:18 PM
alright!
Lester Wiggs 6:04:24 PM
It was a very obscure bar. No one have ever seen Glen Campbell, he was here that night.
Esoterica (host) 6:05:45 PM
huh wow
G Jax 6:06:00 PM
I love Glen Campbell
Lester Wiggs 6:07:10 PM
For country singers specifically, the common joke is that it takes three to change a light bulb: one to change it and two to sing about the old one. A variation states it takes four: one to change the bulb, one to express heartbreak over losing the old one, one to sing about loving the new one, and one to shout "Yee-hah!" and throw their hat in the air.

Bike R (pledge!) 7:39:55 PM
I guess it’s really a Paul McCartney cover. But carleen’s version kinda better
Richard of Rocky Hill 7:46:18 PM
Yes, it was "Let Me Fall." The now-legendary New York-based "citybilly" bluegrass band the Greenbriar Boys recorded a killer 2-banjo version in 1964 on their classic album "Ragged But Right." Question: Did you say the Grant/McGuire/McKenzie version was recorded in 2022? It sounds like a much older field recording, which the Greenbriar Boys learned from. Inquiring minds want to know!
Esoterica (host) 7:47:58 PM
