I went to Princeton Sunday to see Richard Linklater's new film "Nouvelle Vague". It bored me, but there's another new Linklater biopic I saw last week called "Blue Moon" that I loved!
Esoterica (host) 5:17:15 PM
cool! I want to see blue moon
Esoterica (host) 5:20:24 PM
pledge.wprb.com
David Shortell 5:23:28 PM
It was written by Robert Kaplow, the same Rutgers graduate who wrote the biographcal fiction "Me and Orson Welles", which Linklater made into a film. Kaplow was in a New Brunswick comedic music group called the Punsters. The group also featured Mark, the widely despised grouchy Court Tavern doorman who died 2 years ago. Mark was credited for discovering the actor who played Orson in the movie!

Randy Marthins 5:44:11 PM
I just had an idea --- someone should do a shows of 30s/40s/50s detective movie soundtracks and call it "Noir-vember"
Esoterica (host) 5:44:35 PM
amazing idea!
Esoterica (host) 5:45:57 PM

Esoterica (host) 5:56:49 PM
aw thanks, randy. I will try. I love those old films.
Randy Marthins 5:58:51 PM

Randy Marthins 6:10:17 PM
For the movie, they swapped out the grungy bar band for Christina Milan - Dwayne Johnson is hilarious as Vince Vaughan gay bodyguard
Esoterica (host) 6:12:30 PM
Should I read it first or can I just jump into the film? Sounds cool.
Randy Marthins 6:14:17 PM

Esoterica (host) 7:04:36 PM
fun! what bands??
Randy Marthins 7:05:32 PM
I've been told that I'm on a different plane of existence --- we were walking around the neighborhood a couple weeks ago and I said "that truck has been parked here a long time" "how can you tell?" thinking this is a street that I run on and hadn't seen it move "look at all the acorns underneath it; if I had been moved, they wouldn't be there "

Randy Marthins 7:34:47 PM
I was as much inspired by his writing (as an English Major) as I was by Ralph Steadman's illustrations of his work (as an artist; and it *might* show in my posts on IG?)
Esoterica (host) 7:35:29 PM
I can see that:)

@esoterica "what do they know?" no, that's the right take; when I finish something I always look for things that are "mine" --- I make squiggles a certain way, for instance; the way I make eyes; stuff like that
