Zappa Spielt Für Bach - Strictly Baroque (Live) recordJet 2010

A unique approach to cross-over music, three early music students from Finland tried out playing some Frank Zappa’s music with baroque period instruments. What started as a merely one-time musical joke led soon to an ambitious laboratory of contemporary music, resulting the cd The Zappa Album, an uncommon combination of Baroque and rock.

@ Beck, yes, I do air those instrumentals occasionally.

Beck Stein 8:45:47 AM
I am loving it too Mr M. This is definitely a playlist that feels like it was for me
Kerroffle 8:46:41 AM
A friend of mine in HS told me that Zappa called his hair "brain ends" as a kid. That set the tone for me that lasted across the years.
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:46:53 AM
Were you aware that there were so many covers of Zappa songs?
Stevie P 8:47:22 AM
ǝʌɐꓷ, I gotta run now. I'll be listening in the car. Great show!
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:47:24 AM

It's also very nice to hear these different interpretations of his work, it's not till I recognize a single chord or arrangement that makes me go "Oh yeah, I HAVE heard this before!"
Kerroffle 8:51:06 AM
I can certainly understand the amount of people that would love to cover him, but it's a substantial number. You have thrown in the odd cover now and again, but this must have been fun and strange to research this show.
Beck Stein 8:51:09 AM
I can't wait to hear the difficult selections! Frank is difficult by default for most people lol
ǝɹnɔsqꓳ ǝɥꓕ ǝʌɐꓷ (host) 8:51:40 AM

Beck Stein 8:52:14 AM

Speaking of shades of difficulty, Zappa has all those 3 chord slow jammy guitar outtake stuff that is worthy of a cover unto themselves.
