| Radha Jayalakshmi Vatapi Ganapatim - Hamsadwani M. Dikshitar Cousins Radha (1932 - 2025) and Jayalakshmi (1932 -2014), popularly known as Radha Jayalakshmi, were early vocalists in the duo singing trend in Carnatic music which started in the 1950s. They were students of G. N. Balasubramaniam.

| Lakshmi Shankar Mira Bhajan (1) MIra Dancing In the Light - EP world village 2008 Lakshmi Shankar (1926-2013) was a famous Hindustani vocalist, but many do not know she is South Indian, she was born Lakshmi Sastri. She started as a dancer, and was part of Uday Shankar’s world touring dance troupe. (Uday Shankar was Ravi Shankar’s elder brother.) But due to an illness Lakshmi Shankar had to give dancing up, and concentrated on singing, but chose Hindustani music. She married Ravi and Uday's brother Rajendra Shankar.

| Dr. L. Subramaniam "Sada Mandil Vazhum" - Abhogi Dr. L Subramaniam In Praise of Ganesh Audiorec 1992 Born in 1947 in Chennai, L. Subramaniam made his first public appearance at age 6. Went on to earn a Master's degree in music and teach South Indian music at Cal Arts. He completed medical training at Madras Medical College and registered as a medical practitioner before leaving for the U.S. He is also the father of Gingger Shankar, Ambi Subramaniam, and Bindu Subramaniam, and a brother of L. Vaidyanathan and L. Shankar.

Radha was half of the Carnatic vocal duo "Radha Jayalakshmi", cousins that were early representatives of the duo singing trend in Carnatic music that started in the 1950's, and included the Bombay Sisters and Soolamangalam Sisters. They had training under G. N. Balasubramaniam.
Jayalakshmi passed away in 2014. Radha just passed away on September 28th. | |

| Ramesh Mishra Raga Rageshree Reminiscence Rageshree Music Institute 1997 Ramesh Mishra was born in Varanasi in 1948, and died in 2017 in New York City. He comes from a family of sarangi players and studied from an early age from a number of his older relatives. He was a disciple of Ravi Shankar. Accompanied by Polash Gomes on tabla.

| Ajoy Chakrabarty Raga Mishra Bhairavi Vocal India Archive Music 1991 Ajoy Chakrabarty (born in Kolkata in 1952) is a Hindustani classical vocalist, composer, lyricist and an exponent of the Patiala-Kasur gharana. His father, Ajit Chakrabarty, was his first Guru. He then studied with Pannalal Samanta, Kanaidas Bairagi and Jnan Prakash Ghosh. Besides that, he had learnt from Latafat Hussain Khan, Nibruttibua Sarnaik, Hirabai Barodekar and in Carnatic styles from Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna. With Samar Saha on tabla. Jyoti Goho on harmonium.
He joined the ITC Sangeet Research Academy in 1978 |
