My favorite side of Lennon and his words/writing is via the books (Spaniard in the Works etc). That Goon / Python etc approach to twisting / punning words through his custom blender. Never get tired of reading those lil tidbits.

The screaming lead guitars were most often George Harrison. Sometimes Paul McCartney. And a few John Lennon lead guitar moments here and there (notably the shared triple leads on "The End").

No scratch that.... Clapton was not on that one sorry

So YES ... John did do one of those screamin leads on Yer Blues - another of his magical guitar moments. I like his playing on Cold Turkey from the solo years. Great guitar playing on that!

Finally remembered... "Isn't It a Pity" from Bee-Attle George is the one that I was reminded of when I heard the Lennon "Nobody Loves You (When You're Down and Out)" So glad the many demos and alt takes are out there in the listening universe

Lennon's few heard leads were fantastic... all Beatles excellent, innovative musicians, not to mention vocals, lyrics and worldwide influence on all art, politics, fashion etc., simply the best band of all time ...🙂‍↕️🙏🏼

On Hard Day's Night? If I recall... It is a combo of 3 things. Lennon playing a Dsus4. George playing a Gm11 and Paul playing a D bass note. A raga suspended many fingered poly-chord of sorts.
