@Scurrow Squirrel - I was never in the presence of Warhol, that I know of!, but I can say I attended a party in which Allen Ginsberg surprisingly attended! I was a teenager and my parents brought me to this party my uncle invited them to that was held at the home of a big activist and founder of an experimental school, and that man knew everybody!

@ParrScream - So many times I went to Kingdom of Vegetarians or New Harmony Chinese restaurant followed by a Troc show. So easy to walk or take the train there, so close to Market East station! I loved that old building and the balcony bar. Some of my all-time favorite shows I saw there! I even met Ari Up from The Slits DJing an event at The Balcony Bar over 20 years ago!

@Lizbot, wrt to catbirds, I was watching a close one call and I imitated it (poorly) ... it looked at me and responded!

@ParrScream - Just catching up on The Chat comments that happened while I was on a long mic break at 4 pm! My daughter LOVES doing the musicals because they involve lots of fun choreography and she likes to sing! She isn't as enthusiastic about the spring plays. They did unbridged Chekhov's Three Sisters a couple years ago and they did a great job, but it's a dark play!

@Lizbot - That is so awesome for your daughter. So glad to hear it! And I have been to both of those place by the Troc many times myself. My first show ever was Black Train Jack, Jawbox and Helmet at the Troc. Think it was 1992 maybe? I got kicked out during Helmet for doing a flip off stage! :-D

@ParrScream - haha, you sound like George! He'd pull a stunt like that! When my husband and I were first dating, he borrowed a vintage early British mod raincoat I was very proud of finding at Village Thrift in Pennsauken, and he hopped up on stage during an Oxes show at First Unitarian Church, climbed inside a large wooden box stage prop and torn my raincaot beyond repair!

@ParrScream - He always got into shenanigans like that! Also, one time at The Troc the singer of an opening band CLIMBED UP the from the floor to the Balcony Bar!
