Rarely catch the opening of your show. But I catch you sometimes man whenever I hear that I always think Arlo Guthrie."borrowed" that melody line for 'Coming into Los Angeles'
Patrick White 12:38:40 PM

G Jax, you old hippy, you! What a great reference!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:41:07 PM
Patrick, it was ART, man!
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:41:25 PM
You're right about everything else!
Russell Woessner 12:41:51 PM
Agree wholeheartedly, Patrick. Terrible portrayal of Miles. People will believe and remember that misleading movie.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:42:31 PM
Come on, guys, it's a Social Movie
Brian D 12:44:03 PM
That movie was great you are right Jerry! A fun wild ride. If people read before watching they'd understand maybe. It was supposed to be and was fiction. They did a great job. Caveat Emptor. Much more interesting that some old by the numbers chronological boring woo the Oscars b.s.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:44:47 PM
I rest my case. Thank you Brian D, Esq.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:45:45 PM
And said better than I could.
Russell Woessner 12:46:47 PM
Best part of that movie was Phil Schaap’s cameo.
Brian D 12:48:04 PM
It was well publicized that it was fiction. Read before watching. Quite simple. There are bios out there to read on Miles. Some not so great but have interesting parts. He was in a bad state at that point. So the possible hallucinatory fiction license applies well to the era.
Russell Woessner 12:50:43 PM
People don’t read books. People believe what they see. The movie stunk. Please excuse my eloquence.
Patrick White 12:51:30 PM
I miss Phil Schaap
Brian D 12:52:41 PM
Pshhtt.... I have already given up on what the greater public believes or sees in a film due to their inability to read. That is on them. If they believe that move is real then we cannot help them. This "people" here and many others no doubt read books. And I know many many others that do. And said books can be unreliable too.
Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 12:54:48 PM
Looking to bring the debate to an end, all I can say is that the movie was "Art". And in my opinion, high art!
vildachaya1 12:59:22 PM
Cheech and Chong's Up In Smoke was high art.
G Jax 1:03:50 PM
One of my good friends in high school was named Art. He was always stoned. I suppose you could call him High Art.
G Jax 1:04:14 PM
Though he preferred to be called Arthur
Patrick White 1:05:23 PM
Made the mistake of telling my cab Driver that I hate ThevEagles Music!! Won’t make that mistake again

G Jax 1:07:23 PM
I love the Eagles. I don't give a shit what Jeff Lebowski says. Funny I just had a big Lebowski conversation last night and this morning. It was about my cat. His name is Jacky Treehorn
rick hallahan 1:07:55 PM
I'm loving the trumpet and Kari's sultry voice. This is good music.
Patrick White 1:08:02 PM
Yeah well that’s just your opinion Maaan!!

Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac is one of my favorite lines of any song

Serenade to a Cuckoo w/Jerry Gordon (host) 1:41:22 PM
guys, you are such an informed group, those who don't already know may enjoy looking up Nica Von Koenigswarter in Wiki, who this song was written about.
Mike Constantine 1:42:26 PM
Was she in the Sound of Music?

vildachaya1 2:35:34 PM
BB's trumpet player was James “Boogaloo” Bolden . He was quite the showman.
Patrick White 2:35:57 PM
I remember my parents putting me on the 66 bus and saying enjoy yourself
Patrick White 2:36:18 PM

BB at the Keswick the last time said something like, You all will go home and say BB King is done, he just sits there, can't even stand up . very funny and self deprecating and then proved 'em all wrong with the first note as he killed it.

i recall a special episode of fresh prince of bell air, features BB King
Brian D 2:45:02 PM
I believe he played the Trenton War Memorial venue multiple times over the decades. Mom said she saw him staying at the hotel near the Oxford Valley Mall over here on the Bucks Co Pa side one time when he had a Trenton gig (1990s maybe?). She & Dad went to the pool there for a bit.
Mike Constantine 2:46:20 PM
Yes, my friend Paul Plumeri (of the Paul Plumeri Blues Band) met him there
Brian D 2:47:24 PM
Used to see Paul in the Bucks Co bars back 30-40 yrs ago. Great blues player. Paul and Danny De-G were 2 of the best pickers in the area. Saw Danny back then too in the bars around same time.
Mike Constantine 2:48:00 PM
Jeez...poor Danny....just crazy.
Brian D 2:49:07 PM
Bobby Lenti another great guitar player in the bar scene (NY transplant but logged many hours around here).

Brian D 2:49:55 PM
Was it Paul or Danny that was considered for Fleetwood Mac touring band back in the 90s? Or maybe both?
Mike Constantine 2:50:29 PM
Gotta be Danny...Paul never mentioned that to me
Brian D 2:50:40 PM
Ok that makes more sense
Mike Constantine 2:51:22 PM
Plus, Danny went to the West coast with the Extremes in 81 so maybe he made connections
Brian D 2:51:55 PM
Heard it rumored around that time I saw Danny playing the blues, rock, covers etc in the bars... Bailey's in Levittown 5 Points area right around the corner from Positively Records. They used to have some good bands here and there for a short time.
Mike Constantine 2:53:48 PM
Danny lived and died in Levittown....went to some bar in Levittown for a Danny fundraiser
