Esoterica (host) 5:39:39 PM
Agreed, and hi Randy!

Rob from Maryland 🦀 5:53:20 PM
Flipper was like Television, very important to me at a certain time in my life. Unlike Television, I did keep listening to them
Esoterica (host) 5:54:03 PM
aw that is cool, rob
Esoterica (host) 5:54:16 PM
i listened to television alot
Rob from Maryland 🦀 5:54:22 PM
I'm not disparaging Television btw!
Randy Marthins 5:55:09 PM
I saw Television and all those bands at CBGB #IMO

Rob from Maryland 🦀 5:57:00 PM
I did too, Esoterica, so I was crying when I learned of Tom Verlaine's death.
David Shortell 5:57:14 PM
Did you see the Shirts before Annie Golden got famous?
Esoterica (host) 5:57:32 PM
no i didn't david and hiii
Rob from Maryland 🦀 5:58:11 PM
Randy (et al.), speaking of CBGB, here's something that should amuse you https://bsky.app/profile/lfickvitch.bsky.social/post/3lye6sce4ck2m "I crocheted Patti Smith’s Horses cover" with a photo
Rob from Maryland 🦀 5:59:14 PM
I didn't either, David Shortell, being a teen and solidly in northern Virginia
Rob from Maryland 🦀 5:59:24 PM
(and hi)
Randy Marthins 5:59:31 PM
A friend of mine says "pu know rock didn't begin IN England or NYC; it began in Delaware"
David Shortell 5:59:43 PM
Whatever happened to Flipper's WPRB station ID that I used to hear 40 years ago?
Randy Marthins 5:59:47 PM
*punk rock
Esoterica (host) 6:00:46 PM
i am not sure about that id - may be in the main studio
the_dude 6:03:16 PM

Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:11:55 PM
I saw Flipper, I think twice, in DC. I unfortunately missed their earlier appearance where iirc from reading about it, they played the same opening cords for 45 minutes until only the faithful were left and then they put on a KILLER SET
Rob from Maryland 🦀 6:12:32 PM
hello the_dude, you are so correct
Esoterica (host) 6:12:57 PM
never got to see flipper wah
David Shortell 6:15:00 PM
I first heard Flipper listening to WPRB one night. The next day in my high school’s cafeteria, I described the crazy band I discovered. A classmate (later the guitarist for FCC and Dirge) seated at my table told me he saw them play at a Princeton fraternity. I never learned how he got invited to that.
Esoterica (host) 6:16:51 PM
whoa - cool story
the_dude 6:23:56 PM
I love both those stories. I love when you're at a show, music or otherwise, and you're not sure if they're messing with you or not
Esoterica (host) 6:24:18 PM
hey dude, just saw you were here! hi:)
the_dude 6:24:22 PM
And then the comedian yells, it's not funny!
the_dude 6:24:28 PM
Hey there dje!
Esoterica (host) 6:24:44 PM
haha your last comment, yes!
the_dude 6:25:08 PM
Oh also, I sent you an Instagram message the other day. Don't think you saw it tho, no biggie! Just figured I'd mention
Esoterica (host) 6:25:46 PM

Esoterica (host) 6:25:57 PM

Esoterica (host) 6:26:01 PM

the_dude 6:26:46 PM
I saw cheer accident recently with Lizbot there and they did something similar. Members mumbling with different recorded words playing. And unfortunately that wasn't me! Though it did look good 😋
the_dude 6:27:07 PM
It was your personal account I think
Esoterica (host) 6:27:21 PM

David Shortell 6:32:39 PM

Esoterica (host) 6:36:43 PM

Esoterica (host) 6:36:52 PM

David Shortell 6:38:26 PM

Esoterica (host) 6:39:22 PM

David Shortell 6:45:40 PM
Is Ron the one with the toothbrush moustache?

Esoterica (host) 6:49:14 PM
