Yes but there are very few left - and in a number of once Jewish communities in India the local Hindus maintain the synagogue because the younger generation all left for greener pastures

I was working with a man from India and took him to Victor Cafe in Philly where the waitstaff sings opera. They were doing all the classic opera everyone knows (whatever was on bugs bunny). He did not know any of it. I asked him about rock and roll and he knew very little and could not name the Beatles or one of their songs. I was a bit flabbergasted until he asked me to name an Indian musician (Of course Ravi Shankar was the only one I knew) It was an eye opening moment of how insular we can be
