@ DJ Mackerel (host) Thanks for a fun summer of sounds. You may have mentioned this during a mic break and I missed it, but ... may we look forward to Mackerel being the audio catch-of-the-day somewhere on the WPRB autumn menu?

yes, i'm gunning for a regular showtime in the fall but the sched is still being determined by the wprb gods

so we'll see!!! def want to make room for the new crop of djs coming in

won't mind having you as a regular : ^)

also hope you can catch more sleep to make up for your sleep deficit! I love late night djing because the lack of sleep really brings out the inner id

I do agree that pop music does tend to borrow a bit too much from the lesser mainstream sources but, hey, that's pop for you. They can't stop churning out more of the same and occasionally they decide that it's time to be it's original, it's probably not original

hahaha thanks a :) yes the sleep deprivation truly activates a strange monster within me

mhm yep, it seems to always be an indie person in the credits whose sound is being milked for the larger artist

but at the same time, i quite enjoy tracking mainstream pop trends, seeing what beomes fashionable, what the crowds favor, who quickly public opinion can change or evolve and who's to thank for that

I will say that maybe ten years ago before I actually became a regular listener and just occasionally tuned into the radio, I generally thought the DJs at WPRB talked way too much. Which was true for me at the time compared other stations because I only cared about the music. But I think what changed for me was that at some point when I became invested in not just the music but the radio show as a concept. Every DJ has their style and commentary which is what I now love about wprb
