the_dude 8:16:39 PM

DebbieWebby (host) 8:17:28 PM
Hell yeah! Can't go wrong with some Mike Patton!
hara 8:29:04 PM
first time listening to wprb (i came from wplace, strangely enough), this is a lovely first impression that i'm getting!! (-:
DebbieWebby (host) 8:35:09 PM
Hi Hara!! Welcome in and to the wonderful world of WPRB!! Glad you found us :)
Nate the Knife 8:47:48 PM
Vegas checking in!
DebbieWebby (host) 8:48:25 PM
Hey Nate!! Good to see you! How are things over there?
hara 8:48:36 PM
if i can ask, whats is the name of the cat cat shown below the logo/in your profile picture?
Nate the Knife 8:49:18 PM
Went to 3 solid shows this week…last nights was so bass heavy I think it caused the vertigo I woke up with today 😬
DebbieWebby (host) 8:49:29 PM
My cat is named Samoth. I made an Instagram for him: samothcat
DebbieWebby (host) 8:50:45 PM
Whoah! What a bad ass week, Nate, minus the vertigo. Whp did you see?
Nate the Knife 8:52:29 PM
I’d like to make a few requests of the small local acts I saw if I may. Hagrot - early death metal sounds from kids under 19…blown away by these boys, only two shows so far and I seen both and they slay!
DebbieWebby (host) 8:53:14 PM
oh! nice! def, I will look into them.
Nate the Knife 8:53:34 PM
Scathen - Vegas black metal. Them and Hagrot opened for Unidad Trauma, this fun Tijuana deathgrind group
Nate the Knife 8:54:48 PM
Then last night I saw Psalm and Graveflower both from Vegas. It was Psalm’s EP release show. And Cattlemass from LA was in there too, highly recommend.
DebbieWebby (host) 8:55:36 PM
Vegas black metal! Sounds fun! I have heard of Unidad Trauma before... might of played them too... I forget but I will def play this for you next week. Sounds like a great show.
Nate the Knife 8:55:39 PM
The weeks highlight was Blood Incantation in LA 😮‍💨
Nate the Knife 8:55:53 PM
Magnificent
DebbieWebby (host) 8:56:15 PM
Damn... you lived it up this week. Metal NONSTOP!
DebbieWebby (host) 8:56:34 PM
I will add them all to the list.
DebbieWebby (host) 8:57:07 PM
AH Blood Incatation I imagine that was badass
Nate the Knife 8:57:10 PM
I’d be getting in some good darkwave tonight to if this vertigo didn’t lay me up
Nate the Knife 8:58:53 PM
Vegas has been really blossoming with tours, venues, and it’s own bands. And i’m not even tapping the punk scene yet. I could take it easy and average 1 show a week, but theres more. One thing i’m happy to brave the heat over
DebbieWebby (host) 8:58:57 PM
damn that sucks. feel better.
DebbieWebby (host) 8:59:43 PM
Vegas sounds happening. That's awesome. Good to hear :)
Nate the Knife 8:59:44 PM
Thanks! I’ll let the groups know! I saw Plague Doctor a couple weeks ago and told them you played them, they all lit up…btw they have a record on the way ;)
DebbieWebby (host) 9:00:10 PM
No way!! Very cool! Glad it made the band happy :D
Nate the Knife 9:00:30 PM
Thats it for the desert newsletter. Hows it goin out that way? What have yall got lately?
DebbieWebby (host) 9:01:29 PM
LOL desert newsletter. Things are good. The usual. I did see Pelican the other week so that was wonderful.
Nate the Knife 9:05:21 PM
I dont know Pelican! I’ll check em out after the show
Ears 9:08:44 PM
\m/
Nate the Knife 9:08:58 PM
I haven’t been tuned in since after Back to the Beginning, RIP Ozzy and happy reunion with Randy!
Nate the Knife 9:09:42 PM
It was all Ozzy for two full days at the shop
DebbieWebby (host) 9:12:05 PM
Nate- Pelican is the instrumental band I play every week. This season I start my show with them and the previous seasons I always ended with their song Drought. You'll recognize when you hear it,
DebbieWebby (host) 9:12:15 PM
Hi Ears!!
DebbieWebby (host) 9:13:20 PM
O wow! Well.. I did a 3 hour Tribute show to Ozzy on 7/27. RIP :(
DebbieWebby (host) 9:14:01 PM
I have been nonstop Ozzy since his passing too. I can't stop listening :(
Nate the Knife 9:16:06 PM
Debbie with the “uhm, actually, you have” 🤓 haha cool cool cool
DebbieWebby (host) 9:16:56 PM
LOL!!! Well you HAVE... you listen so much that you DEF did
DebbieWebby (host) 9:17:09 PM
I play them every week so ya know HAHAHA
DebbieWebby (host) 9:18:02 PM
Listen to Drought for five seconds and you will be like OOOHHH THEM!
Nate the Knife 9:18:28 PM
I love it, I went to the record shops and the O sections are half vacant. Every where I go, I hear his voice. The music is trending everywhere. Scathen warmed up the set with Electric Funeral, Psalm ended with Children of the Grave last night
Nate the Knife 9:19:36 PM
He knew he was on his way out and doing that show was a willing farewell. BEAUTIFUL. I’m so glad he got to do it.
DebbieWebby (host) 9:20:11 PM
Hell to the yeah! I have been on the hunt for Ozzy and Black Sabbath and yup... very empty. Go Ozzy go! He has been on my Instagram newsfeed NONSTOP and its the BEST.
Nate the Knife 9:20:13 PM
It’s like when Bowie did Blackstar. Goddang gorjuss farewells.
Ears 9:21:28 PM
Or Warren Zevon's later songs
DebbieWebby (host) 9:21:38 PM
Absolutely. A living funeral... it was the best way to end it all. SO happy Ozzy got his final show in 3
Nate the Knife 9:21:47 PM
It feels huge. I literally have talked to people who have said they started playing their instruments again because the torch has to be carried on
DebbieWebby (host) 9:22:39 PM
so true! That Blackstar video was haunting to watch.
DebbieWebby (host) 9:24:13 PM
I just googled Warren Zevon... not too familiar with him, Ears
Nate the Knife 9:24:55 PM
The whole album, num num num i FEAST on acceptance of mortality
Nate the Knife 9:25:23 PM
Which will be my prog bands first song title haha
Nate the Knife 9:25:42 PM
Same immediately dug in for Warren Zevon, will listen
DebbieWebby (host) 9:25:50 PM
That is great news. Very happy to hear this is inspiring people to play again. Its very true... keep the torch going!!
DebbieWebby (host) 9:26:31 PM
LMAO! great song title
DebbieWebby (host) 9:31:10 PM
WHen you get that Prog band going let me know. It's getting some FM play.
Ears 9:32:51 PM
Vegas has got to have the most amps per capita than any other US city!
Nate the Knife 9:35:44 PM
You effin know it
Nate the Knife 9:36:40 PM
Yo, true. The obvious places come to mind with all the casino venues etc, but my mind is blown away by all the back alley venues around town
DebbieWebby (host) 9:39:44 PM
That's so cool. What's your favorite back alley venue?
Nate the Knife 9:45:18 PM
So far this one that’s a rehearsal space called The Alamo…but when metal shows happen, it’s The Doom Tomb! It’s adjacent to the arts district, and there’s venues behind venues there…everytime im headed home from a show, i hear music from an alley and i’m like ANOTHER ONE?!
DebbieWebby (host) 9:46:40 PM
THE Doom Tomb!!! so metal \m/ I will need to keep that mind for any future visits. That's awesome there is so music everywhere.
Ears 9:48:30 PM
Was that segue supposed to be funny? I laughed
DebbieWebby (host) 9:48:37 PM
YES!!!
DebbieWebby (host) 9:49:02 PM
I like to keep everyone on their toes. SURPRISE!
Ears 9:57:51 PM
Old school head-banging! Yeeees
DebbieWebby (host) 9:58:41 PM
very old school!! I saw this on Youtube over the weekend and i NEEDED to play this. It's so interesting to see them back in the day. They look different but I love it.

Wow! I've never seen video from that era, either. I'm used to the leather boy MTV look!
Nate the Knife 10:09:44 PM
Any visits to Vegas, I’ll put you on for sure. My IG is my name ^
Ears 10:15:35 PM
I may follow you just to see who has equipment that leaves you with vertigo the next day. I'm not sure if it's to avoid it or seek it out though 🤔
DebbieWebby (host) 10:16:06 PM
awesome, thanks! I will add ya.
