I still listen to your Italian horror library composers show. I call it Anxiety

this pleases me. i've been wandering on the peripheries for a bit but am going to make my way back into more focused shows sooner or later

This show is cool

in fact, i will be doing two of them in lizbot's slots first two weeks of august. focused on the flexi-pop bootlegs of the early blog era internet. there's about 30 albums of material and it's maybe the deepest dive into all manner of electro punk/cold wave/etc. ever done

There was a fella with a golden voice who was going hard with the one man covers at one of the seaside restaurants the whole time i was there, it was a long shift. Yacht rock favors the brave

If you can look a hired musician at a restaurant directly in the eyes while they're doing their act, you are ready for yacht rock

Yeah not a fan of the term or most of what passes for it if it even exists as a genre. Just filed under "boring stuff I heard in the car as a kid in the 70s, no peaks no valleys, no chances taken... etc"

But when these little rarities tidbits pop up on the Deirdre setlists they all seem and seam to make sense

This is fair, i was born after its stronghold days and am probably a bit irony poisoned, but am able to look at it with unflinching gaze because it didn't hurt me in adolescence

Love that LP title Made in Taiwan. That is a 70s 80s memory for sure. Seeing that on a label. My grandparent from Western Pennsylvania called it "Tee-Uh-Wahn"

A little bit Prince Purple Rain-ish on the lp cover art here but not close enough for the attorneys to get involved.

I just generally like music that's clearly a passion project by your local postal worker or some such person, and was likely only heard by family and friends pre-internet.

This one looks to have come out the year before Purple Rain!

There's a great bit on Portlandia where everybody is a DJ (live EDM type not FM) or is just about to go on to their 2nd job doing a DJ set,... moms, grandmoms, postal workers etc...
