David Byrne and his Latin Band was a great show... My friends and I went straight from the beach to the show (San Diego Starlight Bowl - outdoors) to hear his Talking Heads classics. We were dancing in the aisles like crazy while these "yuppies" were all dressed up fancy and sitting for his Latin orchestra... Strange audience mix. David Byrne is a genius. Thanks for the reading and YOUR influence on MY listening. 😁

Wow! The Butts Band! Playing killer slide guitar and drums on their version of "Kansas City" is none other than, respectively, Robby Krieger and John Densmore, both formerly of The Doors.

i had never heart the butts band, but i really liked them!!

Yes, as popular as they were/still are, IMHO The Doors are one of the most underrated bands in rock history, especially instrumentally. In addition to Krieger and Densmore, there was Ray Manzarek a phenomenally versatile keyboard player (harpsicord and piano in addition to organ ~ and in concert he provided the band's foundation with his left hand via a special bass keyboard). Alas, they tend to be overshadowed by their charismatic (and sometimes over-the-top) lead singer Jim Morrison.

I remember when you found Atari Teenage Riot earlier this summer! I LOVED it! Talk about a flashback to good times for me... :-)

Yah, The Bush Tetras! Used to go see them in a club that was in an office building in the financial district. 1980, 81? Long time since I've heard that. Matrix you keep playing the music of my late teens! I love it!
