Just switched from fm to stream to fm again. Crazy how much higher the fidelity is over the airwaves versus on the web.

yeah i prefer listening over fm when i can, which unfortunately isnt as often as i'd like

Found this Gitkin lp recently. Good stuff.

Other great instrumental (mostly) band to check out is L'Eclair. They would fit into many WPRB playlists.

Stream sounding good over here. I am just at the border of FM getting staticky and dropping out up here in Bucks. Or it gets taken over by some Lehigh station right around 103ish placement

@BrianD I’m over by the river towns so signal availability depends on which hill I’m behind so I have to switch from fm to stream a lot haha

prb has had some strange audio quirks over the years with their signal plus the advent of cars and other fm stereo devices and their so called "HD" radio tech.

When streaming I would recommend some way of doing it with the ability to adjust the eq. Loudness/pre amp up depending. And mids up for vocals / dj talkings depending. Lately the stream signal for prb is HOT (meaning very loud) compared to just a few months before. And compared to other streams. Can get distorted depending on the dj and their location as well as the track playing (older stuff not as distorted vs newer releases that are extremely high all across the board).

By dj location I mean campus vs barge vs "at home" djs. All have different setups.

i dont know much about the tech side of things but yeah we've have had a couple dj's doing long range broadcasts, which we're trying to phase out since the quality is just not as great especially the farther away they are

Strangest thing today is I tried to test out the fm while I have the stream going on another speaker and.... for the first time ever... they are synced up at exactly the same place in the song(s)! I have never heard stream vs fm like that. Usually it is a second or 2 delayed.

I would hope prb would not phase out the faraway dj's but rather lean towards both dj and station finding a way to make their sound better, easier etc. Some great at home dj's out there over the last 5 years.
