We were listening to KEXP last hour, which is having a 27 hour Protect Public Radio marathon, with the same two djs for all 27 hours. One of the djs called the General Manager at WMMT in Whitesburg KY, a community station that would be severely affected by the recision bill in Congress right now (recision = stopping the flow of already appropriated money).

I looked at the General Manager's bio, and she was dj Peppermint Pig here at WPRB!

Rest in Peace Brian Wilson. Great songs for a fitting hot as heck summer day

I really loved the Beach Boys. Pet Sounds obviously is such an incredible thing, and the isolated vocal version of that album is just otherworldly.

I hold a very dear place in my heart for Smiley Smile. I love how weird it is. When I heard that it felt almost like proto ween.

I feel like the album released as unfinished kinda felt like you could see the strings in the songwriting/recording process a little. Which was fascinating

Hmmmm I never heard of old Orchard school. But I grew up in the old Orchard section of Cherry Hill. But there was a lot of elementary schools. I'm guessing the school you're speaking of had to be on the west side because I pretty much knew who the elementary schools were on the east side

Sharp school was on old Orchard Road. And that was the elementary school I went to.

Sometimes going to the Cherry Hill mall feels like walking into a David Lynch Larp.

Wilson produced the backing track at the start of the Smile sessions in August 1966. It is theorized that a missing session tape may have contained a vocal track that he recorded with his bandmates in October. In 2004, Wilson rerecorded the track as "Song for Children", with new lyrics written by Van Dyke Parks, for his album Brian Wilson Presents Smile, where it segues between the songs "Wonderful" and "Child Is Father of the Man"
