Thanks all. What I couldn't mention on-air given WPRB's policy of not discussing things going in or out of certain areas is the fact that I HAVE TO COLLECT 24 HOURS OF MY URINE AND BRING IT TO PHILADELPHIA TOMORROW.

This would have been a comedy of errors at The Barge for a three hour radio show, running my jug (which needs to be refrigerated) up and down the steps and then sloshing it home.

Good afternoon everybody! Jon, just when I thought you couldn't be any more of a stand up guy! I've had 2 kidney transplants myself. First from my mom, second a deceased donor. Good luck with everything tomorrow!

The second jug will likely be recycled, I sincerely hope it doesn't get to that point. A frozen lunch bag is in the freezer for tomorrow morning's transport.

TMI…I got a vasectomy a few years ago and had to call and ask what type of container they wanted my “sample”…I was leaning toward yogurt cup but alas they requested I get a container from them.

Wow, Brian. My friend old Melissa has been looking for a while and I figured I should check if I could be a match. So far, no red flags but I know there are tons of tests / checks still to come.

I was fascinated to learn how deep into this process I could potentially say "psych, I'm out." Like, as late as I'm being wheeled in for removal. That said, I imagine if I make it that far I won't pull such a prank.

I hope Melissa finds a match asap! I was on dialysis for 3 years. Not the most enjoyable way to spend 3 afternoons a week ha.

Me too, Brian. There was a program that paired potential donors with people who had gone through this process to help ease concerns but it was recently sunsetted. Not sure if that was the government's doing or not but a shame regardless.

Shame indeed. My dad also gave one to my sister. If it eases any concerns, parents both healthy since and that was over 25 years ago.

That's great, Brian. I had to watch a 30 minute video about kidney donation and then someone from the hospital called me to quiz me on it before I could continue. During that quiz, she let me know they have yet to lose a patient doing this procedure and I informed her I would prefer not to be first.

The first time I started this process I got kicked out of the system and had to start again from jump when I was not contacted post-blood work. A touch frustrating but not the worst.

I mean, that's GOOD, but not reassuring that they brought it up.
