| Dr. N. Ramani Jnanamosaga rada - Purikalyani Tyagaraja Classical Instrumental Sony 2000 Dr. Natesan Ramani (15 October 1934 – 9 October 2015), commonly known as N. Ramani or N. Flute Ramani, was an Indian Carnatic flautist. Ramani was born into a family of flautists, learning first from his grandfather, Aazhiyur Narayanaswami Iyer. He later became a disciple of his maternal uncle and eminent flautist, T. R. Mahalingam.

| Gangubhai Hangal Raga Marwa Two Soulful Melodies From Gangubai Hangal Inreco 1979 Gangubai Hangal was born in Hangal (now in Karnataka) in 1913. Her mother was a Carnatic singer. The family moved to Hubli in 1928 so that Gangubai could study Hindustani music. Her main guru was Sawai Gandharva of the Kirana gharana. She died in 2009, aged 96.

| Kadri Gopalnath Mamavathu Sri Saraswati - Hindolam Mysore Vasudevachar Golden Galaxy of Music Magnasound 1995 Kadri Gopalnath (1949 – 2019) pioneered the saxophone in Carnatic music. One of his teachers was vocalist and mridangam player T. V. Gopalakrishnan. Kadri Gopalnath made some adaptations to the saxophone to permit playing Carnatic music.

Among his many teachers was a musical apprenticeship with Maharajapuram Viswanatha Iyer. Prominent disciples include M. S. Subbulakshmi and her stepdaughter Radha Viswanathan, T. M. Thiagarajan, and violinist T. N. Krishnan.

They were students of G. N. Balasubramaniam.
