It's downright toasty in studio and I"m starting off the show with a numb tongue as if I just had a Novocaine injection, even though I didn't, so this is gonna be an interesting show experience on this end, not that it isn't normally for me, but I am kinda woozy!

A DC birding friend who can distinguish individual catbirds in her yard and apparently gives them names, said some of her catbirds arrived over the weekend

@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - oh boy. Well frankly ive been wanting to be out in the yard more this week, but was very busy at my mom's in Jersey during the holiday weekend and all I saw were robins and carpenter bees in her yard! Maybe later this week one will bombard me on the deck!

haha, I accidentally played that Punishment of Luxury track sped up, but kinda enjoyed it that fast. Would've preferred regular speed, though!

Hi - Catbirds are my favorite - they have the cat sound they are known for - but they also have a non-repeating song with a lot of wonderful little melodies - I also like how curious they are about us humans and how close they come to tkae a look at us.

Hi vildachaya1! - I can see how their sound sounds about a bit like a whiny cat meow, but to me they sound more like a somewhat beaten up squeaky toy!

Birds that are territorial get to know you if you sit outside a lot. they often live for over 10 years. I want to develop a relationship with a Crow or Raven. Supposedly they bring you giftss.

I always enjoy hearing catbirds singing

@vildachaya1 - I do admire catbirds' tails, always held at a jaunty angle, and their curiosity, but man, the one who always nests in the row of arborvitaes along my back fence definitely feels he is boss! He flies right over to within a couple feet of me whenever I go out on the deck to give me a piece of his mind!

We had nesting cat birds too in our our hedge. What a suprise when we peeked into the nest and saw kittens.

@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - Their song, yes! But I have a feeling my catbird is telling me off! Still, I always look forward to seeing him and his mate. He knows me well at this point! I enjoy that he has absolutely no fear of me. He definitely feels the yard is absolutely his territory and I should not be there!

@vildachaya1 - For real?! Ha! I am glad I haven't had any kitty litters born in my yard because there are already so many stray kitties in my neighborhood and all over Philly, it's hard to find homes for them! My near-neighbor became known as the woman who'd take in any stray litters to foster and people started leaving them on her stoop with a note!

A raven would be so cool - THey say you start by offering it food like peanuts. we have 3 crows who are always flying around together near my house. I want them to get to know me and feel like I am their friend. Oh and NOT FOR REAL - Kittens?!?!? from a Cat Bird - You Silly Goof

@vildachaya1 - haha, no it's fine! It's just that time of year when suddenly seemingly a dozen different friends and acquaintances start pleading to take some of the kittens they found on the street off their hands, and while I am happy to help, there are too. many. kittens!

When I was 10 I came off the bus from summer camp with a kitten I had cared for at camp. My parents were none too pleased with the counselors for letting me bring home a kitten. It was not allowed in the upstairs part of the house and mostly lived outside.

@vildachaya1 - A raven WOULD be cool to have as a friend/regular visitor to my yard! I love watching corvidae speaking and solving complex problems!

BTW you and Readie together during fund drive was a hoot

@vildachaya1 - If you wanna see an absolutely shocking number of crows, come to Trenton's Transportation Center - The murder [of crows] capital of New Jersey! They're plotting something, I just know it!

@vildachaya1 - Oh Readie and I have SO much fun together during the Membership Drives! We feed off each other's energy! I always look forward to those shenanigans!

@vildachaya1 - I have had three cats in my life. One was a strictly indoor rotund loaf of a white cat with disconcerting lime green massive saucer eyes on a disproportionately tiny head. She LOVED to mimic bird calls while perched on top of the fridge with the window open and she was quite good at it!

@vildachaya1 - I THINK it was her attempt to lure the birds, but they were never fooled. Still, she was very skilled in her library of sounds! She was NO hunter, though! The one time she accidentally got outside, she just hunched down in the grass of the vacant lot next door looking utterly freaked out and waiting to be rescued!

@Alex Crowe - You're very welcome! I was just thinking about Fripp earlier today. I wonder if he'll ever tour the U.S. with his comedy cover-band duo of himself and his wife, Toyah Wilcox! They have been touring the U.K. for the past coupla years. Of course, I'd RATHER just see him in King Crimson again, but hey, he says he's retired from the band and, unlike MOST long-running legacy bands that claim they're playing a final tour and then come back again two years later, I believe him

@Rob from Maryland 🦀 - I'm glad you enjoyed it! The first of her a capella releases I heard was "Look Both Ways" because it was used in the film Chuck and Buck I saw at The Ritz in Philly in 2000. I later heard the whole album that came from, Imaginaryland. Years later she covered the entirety of one of my all-time favorite albums, "The Who Sell Out," complete with all the made-up radio commercials for "Radio London" in between songs! She REALLY won me over with that one!
