it was WUMD when i got there, but we got a nastygram from CMJ about our submissions competing with WUMD at U Minn-Duluth so we switched to WMBC. and that's ... the rest of the story.

Rumor was you could also get it at the LaFarge dorm, also just across the lot from the station bldg but it was definitely no-go if you tried to listen on the Merion side of the campus where I lived

Wanamakers was the name of a famous department store here in Philly. It’s still there but it’s a Macy’s now. Has a lot of history. Including the largest working organ in the world which a guy performs twice a day, still. Do you remember the movie Mannequin? That was in Wanamakers
