Good morning DJ AskTheQuestion, Dale & chat. I was just looking at my Putting Food By book yesterday! Not reading it, just saw it on the shelf.

elon is on youtube asking for donations to get in on the ground floor of lithium mining. i think he could afford to do it himself. unless there's a risk of losing money, of course.

amy lee - i haven't canned in years. i think applesauce was the last thing i made when i had a good producing tree (since dead and became firewood).

Did anyone else start drumming as a child using oatmeal canisters?

i played the french horn in elementary and high school. haven't picked one up since. but i still cary a mishapen smile from the tiny mouthpiece moving my teeth inward - sort of a dracula look.

Oatmeal canisters are fun, but I remember using a 5 gallon bucket in a drum circle as a teen

I love the weird smell of the black walnut green ball

a squirrel packed a floor joist bay full of walnuts here once. i took up one of the old floorboards and shoveled them all out so she would move on. they burned well in the woodstove.

Dale, yeah I've found large collections in the attic before. Squirrels seem to love em.

i've even found them under a couch cushion and in shoes. there was a hole in the eave where they came in and i got it patched. we all want a warm dry place to live.

Earlier this summer, I left a pair of work gloves on a table outside. In less than 24hrs, two fingers were stuffed with nesting material - guessing mouse.
