Sounds of the Desert
This summer, I visited my first desert and it filled me with an indescribable something. It was, for sure, the muted beauty, the soft angles, the yellows and browns; the knowledge that it's been there for millions of years, the generations of people that have looked at it with nothing looking back. Maybe it's like like hearing your own heart pounding in a really quiet room, except it's you entire, pounding against the vastness.
Today we are listening to a little bit of desert blues, some Tuareg rock, some tende, and ending on an ambient note, with a lot of fun stuff in-between. Excited for three more months of Ungoogleable Feelings.

tbh I did not know who daniel lanois was before :)) but there are a lot of western guitarists who collaborated with big north/west african groups. songhoy blues has a song with iggy pop, i think, which is also a wild crossover
