Hi @DJ Samsa, enjoyed your show most days, was thinking you might like this new graphic novel called "Einsten in Kafkaland"..

I'd never before heard that paticular cut of "La Mer" (known in its English language version as "Beyond the Sea") by guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli. It's absolutely exquisite! Not that all their music wasn't ;-)) but this example especially. Merci!

Bobby Darin has a fairly popular version in the US - very Sinatra sounding

@ .Fräncis Mais oui, mais oui! Charles C. Trenet's "La Mer" is thrilling, IMHO far better than the English language hit versions "Beyond the Sea."

@ All ... and let me put in a word and plea for Django's fabulous musical partner, jazz violinist Stephane Grappelli . As magnificent as was Reinhardt's guitar and his unique approach to combination chording/individual noting and the support of his rhythm guitar backing brothers, it wouldn't be Hot Club of France acoustic jazz without Stephane's fiddle!

to tell the truth, this season I just thought it would be really funny to have my DJ name be DJ Samsa! I'm not sure I would truly call this show Kafkaesque, though the show name Metamorphosis could be relevant to it in other ways :')
